Ni-san

"Why are you here?" I ask. "Give me a serious answer."

He freezes and I feel the atmosphere get chillier. "Are you sure you want to know?"

I think for a moment. 'It can't possibly be that bad.' I gulp at his intense stare. 'Actually, considering he's the eighth most wanted villain in Shibuya, it can be that bad.'
"Yes, I want to know." I state.

He sighs. "I can't tell you."

"Why not?" I query.

"I don't want you to be more stressed than you already are." He starts. "I'll just have to stay for another week or two."

I frown. "Another week or two?! That's quite a while."

"I know, but u just need to know that you're safe." He mutters.

"If this has anything to do with my safety, I should know." I say.

"No." He states.

"Ryuus-"

"No!" He states with finality.

My eyes widen and I'm taken aback. This is the first time he's yelled at me.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to yell." He heaves a heavy sigh before continuing to wash the dishes.

"I'll be in my room." I mumble before heading upstairs.

*Ryuusuke's POV*

I frustratedly ruffle my hair with my wet hands. My chest aches as I watch her go up the stairs.

I glance towards the clock. 'It's almost eight.' I remark. 'Aizawa will be dead soon.' My eyes unconsciously wander over to the staircase where Rei was standing.
'She's going to be upset if he dies.' I think. 'Argh! What am I saying? I'm the eighth most wanted villain in Shibuya and I'm going soft for some girl?!' I turn off the tap and dry my hands.

'Remember how sad Tayuya was when dad passed away?' I say to myself. 'They aren't the same, though....' I argue internally. I tap my foot impatiently against the tiled kitchen floor. I see their smiling faces, Rei and Tayuya side by side, in my mind's eye. Their smiling faces and their horrified one.

"Ryuusuke, dad isn't waking up..." she whispered shakily.

I dropped my school bag on the hospital room floor. I looked at my little sister, tears welling up in her eyes and hands shaking spastically. She was never one to cry. I angrily shook my father and begged him to wake up, but he didn't budge. Suddenly, I saw scarlet. I ripped off the bedsheets and saw the gaping hole in his abdomen.
I heard Tayuya shriek as I rolled father over and saw the bloodstained hospital bed.

Several nurses and doctors then barged in. "We heard a shriek wha-" the nurse cuts herself off as she gasps.

"Get your hands away from him!" The doctor barked at me.

I raised my hands when I realized they were covered in my father's blood. I looked over to my sister and saw her terrified, lightless eyes.

When the police came, my sister blocked them from entering.
"Don't take away my brother!" She screamed as she started to uncontrollably set off her quirk. The warm smell of my mother's shampoo filled my nostrils and I began to feel light-headed. Doctors and nurses began to pass out.

"Stop using your quirk!" One of the policemen hollered. "Stop or we'll shoot!"

"Don't shoot him!" My sister shouted and policemen started falling to the floor.

"Tayuya stop!" I desperately cried, but my voice was drowned out by a booming gunshot.

I watched in horror as the scent faded and my little sister fell to the floor. "I'm sorry, Ni-san." She whispers. Her tear-filled eyes now dull and mouth still loosely open. I cried and angrily released my quirk. The sleeping bodies of the doctors and policemen were now inhaling a much more concentrated sleeping gas. This one put them to sleep forever.

I feel a lump forming in my throat as I relive the dread I felt in the pit of my stomach when I relived Tayuya's tear-streaked and horrified face. I abruptly stand, causing the chair to scrape the floor as it gets pushed back. I slip on my jacket that was on the hook in front entrance and pull the hood over my face. I then quietly slip out the front door. 'I can't bear to see that face again.'
