12: My Hero

"What?!" I hear Shoto exclaim. Everyone around me gasps.

"And I know exactly why you saved that boy!" He points to a livid Katsuki. "He's your childhood friend, isn't he? The one you keep a picture of on the bedside table?" He laughs at Katsuki's shocked expression. "Wait, you didn't know?! Damn, you kids are denser than I thought!"

"You liar!" Katsuki yells. Everyone looks over to me.

I drop to my knees. "It's true..." I choke out quietly.

I feel like the world stops. Everyone is dead quiet until a furious voice cuts through the silence. "Y-You what?! You've been lying to me this whole time?!" Katsuki exclaims.

"I'm sorry." I squeak.

Tomura laughs harder than before- if that's possible. I feel an odd tingling sensation spread throughout my body. "Stop...Tomura." I say.

"What?" He asks between laughs.

"Don't hurt them." I say a bit louder as I get back up.

"After all I've done for you!" He snaps. "Ten years with you! This is how I get repaid? You betray me for the very things you despise?!"

"Ten years I've spent looking at this ugly side of society. Ten years I've spent not knowing how it felt to have someone you could trust with your life." I glare at Tomura. He glares back. "That's ten years I'll never get back."

He walks towards me, but suddenly, a large pulse of energy radiates off of me. 'What the..' Tomura goes flying backwards. The ground starts to crumble and decay, making it hard for me to walk closer without tripping in a crack.

"These heroes didn't make me soft or fragile, I've always been like this. Everyone is as fragile as glass, but it's hard to notice how fragile it really is until it cracks." I say. "After ten years of my life was spent thinking that my life was horrible and that was good enough, but then these people showed me how amazing life could be. Please, don't hurt them or else I'll crack- and you don't want that."

Another pulse of energy pushes Tomura back even further. I feel a little lightheaded, but I quickly pop another iron tablet into my mouth, swallowing the pill.
"Hah, if you do break down, all of these people will be dead! Just like your father!" He hisses.

My eyes open wide in shock. He takes his moment to rush toward me, his hand reaches for my face, but I quickly block it with my arm. I hiss in pain as my skin turns stiff and crumbles away to dust.

Tomura makes another grab for my face, but a wall of ice blocks it. I look to my right in surprise and see Shoto standing there.
I feel myself start to tear up. 'They're still fighting for me?'

The ice starts to disintegrate as a hand pops out. I move back and Tomura rushes towards me. He throws a punch and I dodge, going behind him and knocking him down by his knees. He falls forward and I grab his wrist, pinning his arm behind his back. He rams his head into my chin and I stumble backwards. He grabs my arm and it turns stiff. I try to wriggle out of his grip, but I can't. Pain shoots up my arm and I elbow him in the face. "Let go!" I shout. I clearly broke his nose, but he won't let go. 'At this rate, I'll turn into dust!'

Suddenly, a loud boom sounds as an explosion goes off in front of my face. Tomura stumbles backwards, his body covered in ashes and my arm raw and fleshy.

"Don't touch her!" Katsuki snarls.

"Why are you still protecting her?" Tomura shouts. "You should hate her! She lied! She's a traitor!"

"I think you forgot we're heroes." Shoto exclaims as he encases Tomura in ice.

"Our fucking job is to protect people like her!" Katsuki exclaims.

The ice begins to deteriorate and Tomura breaks free. I grab Tomura's wrist and apply my quirk to it. I then touch the ice wall Shoto made earlier. Tomura shouts as he gets pulled towards the wall.
Tomura uses his other hand to start turning the ice to dust, but Nomu- who was with Aizawa-sensei, punches the ice wall and shatters it.

"What the hell is that?!" Katsuki exclaims.

"It's a Nomu! It's got a bunch of quirks to make it strong enough to kill All Might." I explain. "The odds are not in our favour."

"I hate how you fucking know." Katsuki grumbles.

"Shut it. You have me or have nothing." I explain. "Look out!" I push Katsuki out of the way of Kurogiri's warp gate. Purple mist begins to accumulate where Katsuki was standing and a huge villain appears.

"Ah, hello Zaru." Tomura states as he smiles. "Mind taking care of them for me?"

The tall and well-built man grins. "My pleasure." Suddenly, his arm turns into a sharp blade. It stabs into my metal belt so hard that it pierces straight through it. iron tablets spill out as they fall from the hole created my the stab. He retracts his arm-blade and makes another blade with his other arm. It almost reaches Shoto, but he creates an extremely thick ice wall and blocks it.

"Nothing less than what I would expect from UA students." He mutters with a smile.

"RARGH!" Katsuki exclaims as he sets off an explosion in front of the villain's face. The villain dodges and stabs into the ground to stabilize himself, retracting the blade in Shoto's direction.

"Hm, only one blade at a time?" I think out loud as I come a little closer to him.

"Close, but it's only one type of limb." He smirks as all ten of his fingers turn into sharp blades. He slashes at me, but I quickly move out of the way and kick him in the face.

I hear a satisfying crack of bones as his nose drips with blood. 'Second nose broken today.' I think with satisfaction.

He grabs me with both hands and proceeds to squeeze the life out of me. "Let go of her, you bastard!" Katsuki shouts as he blows up the villain's face. Suddenly, I feel sharp pains around my chest and stomach. He grins as I writhe in his grip, blood dripping down his hands as his blade-fingers stab into my sides.

I hear maniacal laughter behind me. I glare at Tomura. He walks up to me and taps my shoulder, making it deteriorate painfully. He's suddenly encased in ice and so is the villain that was holding me. His blades retract and he drops me. I feel the blood pooling around me on the ground. My vision is hazy and I feel my knees buckle underneath me.

"I AM HERE!" I hear a familiar voice shout in the distance.

I fall into the warm arms of Katsuki. "Stay awake, got that? Don't you dare close your eyes." He says threateningly.

I smile as I inhale the scent of caramel. "You're amazing, Katsuki. My hero. " I mumble before everything goes black.
