"So Midnight is teaching and the whole school is under tight security?" Aizawa echoes I've told him.
I nod as the nurse hands me a cup of hot tea in a styrofoam cup. I take a sip and cringe at the unusual, bitter taste. "What tea is this?" I mumble as I place it on the coffee table.
"It's parsley." The nurse replies before walking away.
"Anyway," I start. "We also got a transfer student."
"I was told on the morning of the Sports Festival. Kaniko Jotsumi, right?" Aizawa asks.
I nod my head and Katsuki let's out a low grumble. "What's she like? Is she adjusting to the class well?" He adds.I nervously reply, "You'll see when you come back."
Aizawa frowns. "That response is concerning." He mutters.
"SHOUTA AIZAWA!" A loud voice that was unmistakably Present Mic's booms before the very man bursts through the door.
"This is still a hospital, keep your voice down." Aizawa reminds Present Mic.
"Sorry." He replies. "Oh, good evening to you two."
Katsuki just grunts and I nod in response.
"Are you alright? When are you being released?" Present Mic asks.
"In about three days." Aizawa states. "I'd like to be released sooner, though. I don't want Nemuri teaching my class."
Present Mic grins. "Someone's gotten a little soft lately."
Aizawa rolls his eyes before turning to me. "Who's been looking after you, Rei?"
"Uhhhh..." 'Well, technically nobody should be, but Ryuus-'
"I am." Katsuki interrupts my thought. I look at him incredulously.
Aizawa frowns. "I don't approve, but it can't be helped, I guess." He says with a sigh. "Anyways, it's getting late. You two should get home."
I nod, rising from my chair, and so does Katsuki. "Goodnight. I'll come back tomorrow after school." I say.
Aizawa nods before the two of us leave the room, shutting the door behind us.
"Why did you say that?" I say.
He shrugs. "Maybe because I want it to be true."
My heart beats quicker at his words. "What do you mean?" I nervously ask. 'He isn't thinking what I'm thinking, right?'
"Magnet-face, you're fucking stupid. What are you? A shonen protagonist?" He replies, but differently compared to his usual tone.
"Hey! You're the one who couldn't recognize an old friend!" I retort.
"You didn't either! Don't fucking lie!" He snaps.
I huff. 'True....'
-----
"I promise I'll be fine!" I reassure Katsuki.
"Fine, but if anything happens, give me a call." He says.
I nod. "I will. Goodnight, Katsuki."
"'Night, magnet-face." He says before walk down from my porch and I close the front door.
I walk down the hall and see Ryuusuke sitting relaxedly on the couch. "Oh, thank God!" He exclaims with a heavy tone of relief.
I shoot him a questioning look. "I should be the one that's relieved! You just up and left the house and you were caught by Katsuki!" I scold.
He chuckles. "I think the last thing you have to worry about is me. I've never been caught by the police, and I'm sure now isn't the time for me to be reckless."
I cross my arms. "You have a point, but why were you worried about me?"
"When I came back inside, I saw you were gone. I thought your boyfriend took you on a date or something, so I went to get some water, and the glass cracked." He says. "I thought something bad happened to you."
"Pfft! You're superstitious?" I cock an eyebrow.
"Hey, the universe could be hinting at something." Ryuusuke states.
I shrug. "Well, the universe was wrong. I'm fine." I say as I pick up the cracked glass and throw it into the bin.
"You never know." He mutters.
I then take a seat next to him. "Where did you go, by the way?" I ask.
"I paid a little trip to the hospital and sucked my quirk out of a certain person's lungs." He responds.
I stare at him. "Wait, are you telling me that you could've awoken Aizawa at any time?!" I furiously exclaim.
"Hush, princess." He says. "I was going to remove him to make my job easier, but...." He trails off.
"But....?" I query.
He smiles softly at me and I could swear his eyes were tearing up. "Nothing. I think it's better if you have more protection."
"And what's this job you're speaking of?" I cautiouslly say.
"It'll just stress you out if I tell you." Ryuusuke replies.
I glare at him. "You've avoided the question once, you're not avoiding it again."
He sighs. "Fine. I have to tell Eraser-Head when he gets back, too." He sits so that his whole body is now facing me. "The League is coming for you."
