[TW: Homophobia, Racism]

The next day, it was all the same. They woke up, went off to continue their journey, walked along a path for hours, and made it to the next village. They made it when it was already night out, the walk between villages being a lot longer this time. They checked in at the inn and went to explore as usual. This time though, instead of a cafe or magical tree, Bad convinced Skeppy to go to the local book shop/ library. Skeppy couldn't exactly say this was the thing he wanted to be doing before they headed out to what could be an immense life change, but Bad was happy, so he was happy.

Bad jumped around from section to section, starry-eyed from the mass amount of books they had. He has to of had a loved for books before he lost his memories because he sure did now. He picked up a book with an interesting title, 'Encyclopedia of The Gods' is what it read. Bad decided to take it to the counter and buy it.

He handed it to the librarian and he rung it up, taking his money and giving back the change. As bad was putting the money back into his wallet, the librarian spoke.

"The gods, eh? Are you a scholar, young boy?" The older man spoke, a bit of roughness to his voice as he asked the question.

Bad looked up with confusion. "Uh, no. I just felt drawn to this book for some reason." he said, laughing awkwardly at how strange that sounded. 'Maybe i was a scholar before i lost my memories..' Bad thought. He got shaken out of his thoughts though when the man responded.

"Interesting. I hope you do realize that book contains a lot of complicated information, though." The man spoke again, adjusting his small, round glasses.

"I do, it does say it on the cover after all" Bad responded. Their conversation was interrupted as Skeppy walked up to the two.

"You ready to leave, Bad?" Skeppy asked, looking over at the taller boy.

"Oh, yes! One second!" Bad replied with a smile, attempting to shove the book into his bag.

The man seemed to squint at the shorter boy, making Skeppy slightly uncomfortable. "U-um.. Do you need anything, sir?" He asked, fidgeting a bit.

"You, you're a magic freak aren't you?!" The old man said, a hint of anger in his voice as it became louder.

Bad paused his struggled and turned to look at the old man in shock. Meanwhile, Skeppy froze in a mix of his friends' current emotions and confusion. "W-what??" Skeppy asked.

"Your eyes! You have magic, get out of here you monster. Didn't you read the sign?! None of your kind are allowed here! OUT!" The man growled with a yell.

Skeppy frowned, confusion and hurt going through his body as he was frozen 'monster...?' he thought, the word repeating over and over in his brain.

Bad turned to his friend and frowned, this quickly turning to anger. Bad kept hold of the book and walked over to his friend, gripping his hand as he began to pull the both of them out.

"What, are you gay too?! FREAKS." The old man yelled with a loud 'tsk' at the end.

Anger seethed through Bad's body, but he didn't let it control him as he opened the door to the shop and stomped out. Skeppy brought himself back to reality as he followed his friend with his shoulders in a slump. The word still repeated through Skeppy's brain, a new one through Bad's.

'Was it wrong to be a mage...? Was it wrong to be gay??' neither of them knew the answer, but that man made them seem as if the answer was yes..

The next morning, they left the village as soon as possible. They marked it in their minds not to come back here if that was made possible. Though they had calmed down since the incident, they were still more than a bit shaken up.  Even so, they were happy now more than ever to be heading on to the next step of their journey.

The two walked for hours before a large shadow showed through their vision in the distance. As they walked closer, they were met with large walls, decorated with flags, watchtowers, fences, and places on the wall to walk the top. Along with all of this, a large gate on the other side of a bridge covering a river was seen. The two walked up to this bridge, looking down on it as if it was a line they were about to cross, a line that would change their life forever.

They both took a deep breath, looking at each other and facing forward once more. They took a step, crossing this metaphorical line and submitting to their new fate.

They were ready for this new journey, no matter what it is.
