Chapter 30 ~ Destruction

{Start of the 'Reality Hits' Arc}

The next year passed like a blur...

The group walked along the path to the academy, re-tracing the tracks Skeppy and Bad once walked in the opposite direction. As the image of the kingdom came into view, something seemed different. As they walked closer, they could tell what.

The kingdom had been destroyed. The large walls were broken apart, houses inside were burnt to the ground. The academy was seemingly blown to smithereens. 

Bad and Skeppy gasped at the sight, a saddened and shocked look on their faces as A6d and Dream stared with concern. They stood in silence for a few seconds, not knowing what to do.

"You said the academy was for magic, so I'm sure the magic users helped everyone. We should try to find where they are.." Dream said, his voice soft as an attempt to comfort the other two.

Skeppy nodded with a sad look, Bad did the same. They walked off to find where they were, eventually finding a camp with many tents and stations set up, people all around. When they walked up to it they found a sign saying 'Academy Civilians Camp'.

"They all seem fine," A6d said, turning to the others.

"I'm glad. I was really worried..." Bad said quietly.

"We should probably try to find the headmaster..." Skeppy said, his voice still saddened. 

The rest of the team nodded as they made their way into the camp to find her. They asked one of the students where the headmasters were and they directed the team to the headmaster's large tent towards the center of the large camp. They made their way towards the tent and entered it carefully.

"Hello?" A6d asked, a man approaching him.

"Hello young man, what are you lot doing here?" The older man asked.                                         

"We're looking for the young adult headmaster," Bad said.

"Ah, okay. Let me call her." He said, turning to the tent and yelling "Vivian!" 

The woman walked out, "Yes, Alexander?" She responded, gasping as she spotted Skeppy and Bad. "Skeppy, Badboyhalo! It's wonderful to see you two doing well." She said with a smile as she walked towards them. 

"It's nice to see you too, Headmaster!" Bad said with a sad smile. "Can we talk?" 

"Of course. Follow me." She said, walking off. She eventually guided the team to an area with a bench in the nearby forest. When they made it, she sat down on one side with the team on the other. 

"Firstly, are these the two boys I sent you to find?" 'Vivian' asked.

"Yeah. This is A6d and Dream." Skeppy spoke, gesturing to the specific person when he said their name.

"Nice to meet you two," She smiled. "I was one of the headmasters at the academy." 

"Nice to meet you too," A6d spoke.

"Yeah, nice to meet you too, miss." Dream responded.

"We should probably get to the point," A6d said.

"You're, right... But first. What happened Headmaster? Why is the kingdom destroyed?" Skeppy asked with concern.

"Well... An army of magic hunters attacked us. We got overwhelmed, but no one died thankfully." She spoke, a frown appearing on her face.

"Magic hunters...?" Bad asked with confusion.

"Yes. There are groups dedicating their time to killing magic users, sadly. They'll do anything to do it, even kill innocent bystanders." She spoke with a bit of anger in her voice.

Dream spoke up "I think we might have experienced a magic hunter ourselves." he stated.

Skeppy turned to him, "Wait, you don't think that person was a magic hunter, do you?" 

"I think so. It makes sense, right?" Dream said. 

"Wait, please explain to me what happened." The headmaster said, confused.

"While we were in a village, there was a scream in the forest. When we investigated it, it was a man that had murdered an innocent woman. When we asked him why he did it he said it was to go after us..." Bad explained. 

"That's... strange. Normally magic hunters would only attack large groups, not specific people." She responded, thinking to herself, then looks back up at the four. "What are those necklaces you're wearing?" She asked.

"Oh. I found them while exploring the forest. They were on some weird pedestals." Bad spoke.

"What?? You said you bought these!" Skeppy said with confusion.

"I didn't think you all would talk them if i told the truth..." Bad said with a pout.

Skeppy sighed, "it's fine." He said, stopping his focus on Bad and looking at the headmaster who was currently staring at them.

"No wonder you lost your memories..." She mumbled.

"Uh. What?" A6d said, confused.

"You know about the gods of fate, correct?" She asked.

"Uh, yes. We just learned of them recently. Why?" Bad spoke.

"Let me tell you a story."
