The team made it to the next village in around 3 hours. It took them a lot longer than expected due to them having to carry Bad the whole way. Once they made it, A6d was sent to cancel their quest, Dream and Skeppy heading to the healer's.
As they were heading there, two stationed guards took notice of the man being carried and called other guards to help take him to the healer's (After a bit of explaining). It took almost no time after this.
They entered the Healer shop which was surprisingly empty. The main healer took them in right away and began to explain the situation.
"So, your friend here seems to have been affected by a level 5 Somnolence Herb. We do have the antidote but it will take from 3-7 days to awaken him with that high of an effectiveness level. I can reserve you a few days in the closest inn so I can come by for regular check-ups as the antidote does it's work. I'd also like to inform you more about these types of herbs so this doesn't happen again. Is that alright with you two?" The healer spoke, standing professionally as they spoke.
"Yes, thank you so much," Skeppy said with a sad smile.
"We do need to inform you that we have another person in our team, so we'd need enough room in our inn room for him as well." Dream said, explaining their side of the situation.
"4 people.. Hm. Shouldn't be a problem. Thank you for informing me." They said, looking over to Bad who was laying in a plain bed, sleeping like a rock. "He's very lucky to have you two as friends, many people are heartless and would leave a teammate behind if they were deemed a burden. You all are very lucky to have found such caring friends." They said with a soft smile.
Skeppy and Dream looked at each other with a smile, then turned back to the healer. "Did you ever have a team? I've heard that most village healers are retired support teammates." Skeppy asked curiously.
"Ah, Yes. But this isn't about me, is it? Let's get you all to your Inn room and get him set up with the antidote. I'll explain more about herbs on the way." They said, standing from their chair and smiling sadly.
Skeppy and Dream frowned but stood anyway. "Sure"
The healer gave Bad the antidote and they headed out to their new inn room. Some guards came to help carry Bad as a request from the healer and after a few minutes, they made it to their new room. Once the healer got Bad set up into his bed and explained more about the herbs and what to do when Bad wakes up, they left to go back to work.
Skeppy went to tell A6d the news and left Dream alone with Bad to watch over him, the healer saying he should never be left alone for more than 5 minutes.
Dream moved a chair from the desk in their room, pushing next to Bad's bed to be able to watch over him. He looked at Bad with a frown, then turning to the nearby window to look out of it.
The village they were in was very busy considering it's size. People of all ages we're wandering down in the streets below. Children were running around and playing, teens were out doing chores for their parents, adults heading to work or the market. It was a nice day, the sun was shining down on them all. If only they could enjoy it too.
Dream frowned more at the thought, turning to Bod once more. Knowing him, Bad was going to feel guilty once he woke up. They would need to assure him that it's fine and there's no need to apologize. But, Bad can't really help it, he just wants those around him to be happy. Dream admired that about him.
Dream smiled with a bit of a chuckle at his thoughts as he remembered all the times when Bad was kind.
One time, they were walking through a village to collect their reward for a past quest. Bad was excited as they all planned to go to the town's cafe afterward as their own little special reward. While they were walking down the main path, they found a little boy who was crying out for his mom.
Bad stopped everything in his tracks to turn and help the boy, he sent the rest of the team to collect the reward while he spent the rest of the day helping to cheer up the little boy and find his mom. He never even got to go to the cafe but told the rest of the team they could go without him.
Another time, the team was heading to another village for a quest., while in the forest they found a hurt bird on the path. A carriage seemed to have run over it's wing and it couldn't fly, it was in immense pain. Bad walked over to it, calming it with a soft tone of voice, and gently picked it up. Once they got to the next village he brought it to the animal healer where they helped and healed the bird.
The animal healer never told Bad, but he informed me that if Bad didn't bring in the bird that day, it most likely would've starved to death from not being able to move very much. Bad really doesn't understand how kind he is.
Out of everyone, he doesn't deserve this. That's why Dream and the rest of the team will take care of him.
They will comfort and help him when he needs it, because they all know he would do the same for them.
