64 - Unexpected

After my almost confession, Archie's almost murder, and a lot of almosts in this town, I decided it was finally time for my friends to meet my brothers, so I sit in the booth at Pops with Archie, Veronica, Jughead and Betty waiting for the twin's arrival.

"So, this is happening? We're meeting your secret twin brothers?" Veronica says.

"You are." I chuckle.

"As long as it's not a repeat of my brother, I'm fine." Betty huffs.

"I don't think so, B." I say thankfully. "I think you're really gonna like them."

"So give us the run down, Super-Nova. What're they like?" Jughead chuckles.

"Sid is a lot like me, I think, including the whole 'mean in a don't-worry-i-actually-do-love-you-but-fuck-you' kinda way. And Rome? Rome is the sweeter of the two, he likes running like me though." I say.

"Geez, Nov. Talk them up anymore and I might start feeling threatened." Archie huffs.

"Not needed, little brother. It's just an addition to our family." I say.

"Do you think they'll move here?" Betty asks, I shake my head.

"They have jobs and lives in Glendale. I doubt it." I say. "They grew up there."

"I grew up in New York and look at me now." Veronica says.

"We'll see." I chuckle

"Al- Uh, Nova!" A voice behind me calls, I turn to see Roman and Sid entering Pops. I get up to greet them both with a hug.

"I'm glad you guys made it." I say happily.

"Wouldn't miss it." Roman says.

"So guys, you met my brother, Archie. But this is my friend Veronica, my best friend, Jughead, and his girlfriend, and my friend, Betty." I say as the twins sit down with us. "Guys, this is Roman, and this is Sid."

"Nice to meet you, guys." Sid greets my friends. "I'd love to say I've heard all about you all, but... I haven't."

"Well, now you have plenty of time to!" Veronica enthuses.

"Right." Sid forces a smile.

"Well... Considering 'Novas' age, you're all in high school right?" Roman asks.

"Sure are, we all go to Riverdale high." Betty says.

"And you don't need to keep doing air quotes... My name is Nova." I tell them.

"We know, it's just... We've only even known you as Alex." Roman sighs.

"I'm the same person, just... My name is different." I say.

"Alex wasn't a gang-"

"Shut up, Sid. You're right. Sorry. Let's get to know each other, shall we?" Roman says.

"Music to my ears." I say.

"So... Sid, Roman, what do you guys do?" Jughead asks.

"Well, I work in a café." Sid says.

"And I work a factory job." Roman says.

"And we investigate murders and boardgames that push people to suicide." I say.

"Huh?" Sid asks.

"Right. Wrong crowd." I say.

"Let's just say Riverdale is not the place you wanna be for some R&R." Jughead explains.

"Guys!" Veronica gasps, looking down at her phone.

"What is it V?" Betty asks.

"Our SATs scores are up!" Veronica exclaims.
