13 - Phone calls.

"I need to tell you guys something." Betty says, as Archie and I walk to school with her. "But you can't tell anyone else, not Veronica, not Jughead, not even your dad."

It's been about a week since the fight. Turns out Archie and I weren't the only ones having one hell of a time that night. Betty and Jughead had cracked the cipher and pulled the fire alarm at town hall thinking the black hood was going to hurt someone. The fear the black hood has brought to our town coxed Mayor McCoy into declaring a town-wide curfew, which was boring, if you ask me. We should be showing the black hood we're not afraid, not rolling over.

"Shit Betty, what's wrong?" I ask.

"No-one. Promise?" Betty says.

"Yeah, sure. Promise." Archie and I say, oddly in unison.

"What's got you so upset, B?" I ask.

"The black hood called me last night." She says, causing both Archie and I to stop.

"What?" Archie asks.

"No, keep walking!" Betty mutters, we continue on.

"Wait, the black hood called you?" Archie asks.

"Yes! It's risky for me to be telling either of you, but we're all best friends and we live right next door to each other. Us 3 walking to school together would look perfectly normal to anyone watching, including him." Betty says.

"You think he's watching us?" Archie asks.

"He could be! I know it sounds crazy, guys. But it was him." Betty says.

"B, why don't you call the police? Even if it's not him-"

"It is him. He told me if I went to the police or told Jughead he'd.... He'd... He knows where Polly is." Betty says.

Polly is Betty's pregnant sister, who'd been dating Jason Blossom before his death. It just goes to show how quick things happen in Riverdale, Jason's been gone a while, and Polly is still yet to pop out the twins. After Polly got pregnant and she was sent to the sisters of quiet mercy, a home for 'troubled youths'.

What Polly and Betty didn't know is that the Blossom family and the Cooper family, are the same family, So Betty and Cheryl, Polly and Jason, all cousins. Yikes. Polly had moved to some crazy cult-like farm 2 hours away from Riverdale after all this 'Black hood' shit started, can't blame her though.

"If he calls, I have to answer." Betty says.

"I won't let you go through this alone." Archie says, stopping Betty.

"Yeah, no. Me neither." I say, she looks at us, and nods hesitantly.

"Everything is a fucking mess, Sweet pea." I say, walking through Pickens Park with him after school.

The two of us had texted back and forth and after both expressing having had a rough day, decided to meet up and take a walk.

After what happened this morning with Betty, Dilton Doiley accusing the serpents of stabbing him when really he stabbed himself with his own knife resulting in them all being questioned by police, and Alice Cooper writing more slander in the paper about the serpents, today had just been rough.

"You're telling me. And then your boy Jones starts having a go at us about it!" Sweet pea complains, having informed me about the aftermath of the fight.

"Jughead just wants to protect Archie, can you blame him? My bonehead brother isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the draw." I say.

"Well the Northsiders got off scot-free, whereas the rest of us got hauled in by police!" Sweet pea sighs.
