I sit in a hospital waiting room with Archie, Veronica, Josie, Fred and Mad dog. I'd asked Pea to go home and feed Vegas, just so we weren't overcrowding.
I watch Archie, who's watching Elio suck up to Ronson's family. He thinks it's his fault. I'm nearly seething with rage, knowing that Elio had given Ronson G.
"Ms. Ronson?' The doctor says.
"Yes?" Ms. Ronson replies.
"We did everything we could. I'm very sorry." The doctor says.
"How did this happen?" Elio asks
"We'll know more after the autopsy comes back." The doctor explains. I dig my nails into my hand. Elio knows exactly what happened.
"We need to see him."
As the doctor escorts Ronson's family to his body, Archie gets out of his seat.
"Dr Patel?" Archie hums.
"Yes?" Dr Patel replies.
"Listen there's something you should know, Randy was juicing." Archie says, I get out of my seat to stand with him as Elio rushes over.
"Excuse me?" Elio says defensively.
"You gave it to him." Mad dog confronts him, getting out of his seat, alerting everyone else.
"I would never give one of my fighters drugs!" Elio lies.
"Is that why one of my associates watched you give him G?" I snap.
"You don't know anything, Daniels." Elio scoffs.
"Don't I, Elio?" I taunt him, his eyebrows crease.
"What Randy chose to put into his body, unbeknownst to me is not my responsibility." Elio says.
"Well aren't you manager of the year?" Veronica scoffs.
"His blood is on your hands." Mad dog tells Elio.
"No. no. His blood is all over Archie's hands, literally." Elio says.
As soon as those words come out of his mouth, all I can see is red. I ball my fists, watching Elio's mouth move as he threatens Archie, but the searing anger deafens me, hearing nothing more than mumbling. I throw my fist at Elio, punching him right in the face. I lunge at him, sending him to the floor. Before I can even hit him again, Mad dog has his arms locked around me, holding me in the air.
"Let me go." I yell, struggling and thrashing, trying to get away from Mad dog.
"Get her out of here!" I hear someone yell.
"You'll pay for this Daniels!" Elio splutters.
"Suck my dick you lying piece of shit." I yell, flinging my legs at him, hitting him in the gut and sending him back to the floor."
"She needs to be removed from the building before I call security."
Before I can contest, Mad dog, who is still holding me in his arms as I try to get away, walks away, exiting the building with Veronica on his trail.
"Fucking let me go, Mad dog." I protest, still wriggling against his grasp.
"Not until you calm down, Nova.'" Mad dog says.
"I'm fine, just put me down." I demand.
Mad dog finally sets me down on the ground. I see Elio's car parked outside. I let out a scream and kick the tire, so I wouldn't do any damage or set off the alarm. An idea strikes, and I get out my switchblade, but before I can act, it's out of my hands, I turn around in shock, and Veronica's holding the knife in her hands.
