(Y/N)'s POV
Staring down the nearly empty halls of my high school, I am smacked with a wave of nostalgia. Today is the last day of my senior year of high school and I am already feeling sentimental. Honestly, I never thought this day would come and I don't feel any older than I was four years ago, so I'm in major denial. Plus, unlike most graduating seniors, I'm also a little reluctant to graduate. I mean, the future is a big scary thing.. anything could happen. Because of all this, staring down the halls of the school I'm going to be leaving behind, is a bit too surreal for me.I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts by a hand being placed on my shoulder. "You okay?" I recognized the voice instantly and turned my attention over to my best friend, Jamie. He's been my friend since as long as I can remember and he's always been there for me. If anything, I see him as more of a 'brother from another mother.' His soft brown eyes looked down at me, his semi-light brown skin and short curly black hair making up the rest of his facial features. He gave me a comforting smile, waiting for me to answer.
I sighed. "I think I'm good.." I said rethinking everything. "I have a good plan for the future, I've been accepted into that art college I wanted to go to.. so I'm gonna be good." I said, saying this more for my benefit than his. It's good to try to look at the bright side. "What about your parents? They still hell-bent on you not perusing art?" He said crossing his arms. He wasn't a huge fan of my parents, though to be fair, neither was I.
"Umm... yeah I don't think they'll ever let me do that." I shook my head. "That doesn't matter now. Graduation day is tomorrow and I'm eighteen. They'll have no legal control over me anymore." I said in a 'matter of fact' tone. Jamie chuckled, giving me a sympathetic look. "Well.. if they give you a hard time again tonight or tomorrow, you can always come stay at my place." I smiled at his selflessness. "Thank you"

Walking home, my mind was filled with how I'm going to tell my parents that I got accepted into the arts college. Before I left the high school Jamie gave me some advice about how I should break the news to them, but even he admitted that their reactions are entirely unpredictable. I sighed, standing in front of my house.
Before I could start walking to the front door, I saw something red in the corner of my eye. I turned my head to see a grey wolf with red eyes standing outside the forest behind my house. It stared at me and I stared back in wonder. 'A wolf? I didn't think there were wolves in the area.' I thought to myself. A car zooming behind me broke my stare, and when I looked back the wolf was gone.
"Huh.." I shook my head. I had more important things to worry about than some random mysterious wolf. Walking up to my front door, I thought over what I'd say one more time before turning the knob. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
