A/n: Canonly the main character has a black wavy bob or lob hair style and I'll probably use that hair to describe the character, but you don't have to use that hair if you don't want to. Just like how you don't need to use their canon name, Tyler.

(Y/n)'s POV
My eyes fluttered open and I immediately sat up. Completely unfamiliar with my surroundings, I panicked. My heart pounding against my chest. Then, all at once, it came rushing back to me. The explosion. The sadness. The mutated DNA. Everything. Part of me desperately wished it was all a dream. But it wasn't.

After calming down I slowly got out of bed, rubbing my temples. A faint dull pain ached in my head, but I tried to ignore it. I made my way over to the bathroom and checked out my reflection in the mirror. My hair was fairly disheveled and bags could be seen under my bright green eyes. My skin was paler than usual too. To be honest, I looked like shit. I shook my head walking over to the shower. The curtains were brown like the bed spread and in the shower, there was already shampoo and a bar of soap. "Huh.." Did they know I was coming? Or are all the spare bedrooms already stocked? Not thinking too much about it, I stripped off my torn clothes and stepped into the shower.

After I got out I felt a little better. It's amazing what a shower can do. I dried my dark hair as best as I could with the towel, then wrapped it around my body. Stepping out of the bathroom, I immediately felt the cool air hug my skin. I wondered over to the dark wood closet, and opened it. There wasn't a lot of clothes in it, but it'll do for now. I looked through the shirts first and only one caught my eye. It was a military green t-shirt with a black biohazard symbol on it. Perfect.

After taking off the towel, I put it on along with some underwear. I then grabbed some distressed skinny jeans and a black shortish trench coat. I found some black boots in the corner of the closet that were just my size and I slipped them on. I walked over to the vanity mirror and smiled at my reflection. This might just be my new look.

I walked back to the closet, picked up my towel, and hung it in the bathroom. Walking back out, I took a moment to truly take in my new room. The walls were a creamy white and the carpet was cloudy grey. The room looked fairly plain and empty. I sighed. This is where I'll be living for a while now. Maybe after breakfast I should go see what they have for decor. Maybe I could even change these boring looking bedsheets.

Stepping out of my room, I looked up and down the empty hallway. Suddenly, I came to a realization that I have no idea how to get to the kitchen or dining room. I looked over to Toby's door. His name had been sloppily painted on by black paint. I stood in front of it, contemplating on asking him for help. He's the only one I actually know here so maybe I should ask him. Hopefully he's still in his room. I softly knocked on the door.
