(Y/n)'s POV
I woke up on a hospital bed in, what looked like, a hospital room. My green eyes lingered towards a tall, thin, and pale faceless man in a dark suit and tie. I quickly sat up, frightened, but calmed down a bit when I saw Toby standing next to me. His goggles and mask were off, revealing a wound on the corner of his mouth that caused his teeth to show a bit. "Where am l?" I asked, trying to ignore the terrifying creature in the corner of the room.
"Y-you're at the mansion." I looked at him confused. "Your mansion has a hospital room?" Toby nodded at my question, smiling.
My attention went back to the faceless creature, I must've looked as scared as I felt because Toby spoke up again. "It's okay, th-this is my boss." The creature named 'Slenderman' nodded, coming closer. "Do not be frightened child, I am not here to hurt you." He spoke in my mind.
"Woah.." I said out loud and Toby chuckled.
Third person
As Slenderman stood there looking at the survivor, he contemplated on whether or not he should break the news to them.
(Y/n) reached for their necklace to fidget with, only to realize it wasn't there. "Where's my necklace?!" They said, feeling kind of naked without it. Slenderman reached into his pocket and pulled out the necklace, it wasn't glowing anymore. He decided it would be best to tell them everything.
"I ran some tests on it and on you." He said. (Y/n) looked at him, almost with a blank expression. "I found out that this necklace's pendent isn't an ordinary crystal. It's made with radioactive material. I also have reason to believe that for years, your parents have been testing on you.. slowly changing your DNA." (Y/n) looked down.
Slenderman then proceeded to tell them everything that he knows about the nuclear power plants. (Y/n) continued to stare at their hands. They felt like their whole life was a lie. Slenderman handed the necklace back to them. "It's safe for you to wear, for others it's toxic.. I believe it's better for you to wear it."
(Y/n) slowly put it on. "So.. my parents were probably working for these scientists.." They looked up, their mind racing about everything that's happened. "Did the nuclear power plants explode on purpose?!" Slenderman shook his head no. "Evidence shows that it was truly an accident.." (Y/n) nodded looking back down.
Toby spoke up. "D-do you know why those scientists w-were doing all of this?" Slenderman thought for a bit, and came to a realization. "Due to the evidence, I believe they wanted to create some sort of genetically modified human. Hence why the parents were testing on (Y/n)."
(Y/n) couldn't take it anymore. Their whole life had been flipped upside down and the last twenty four hours had been nothing but extremely overwhelming to them. Clear and slightly green tears rolled down their face as they desperately wished Jamie was here. Toby had the strong urge to give them a hug, but resisted.
"Wh-why did they pass out i-in the woods?" Toby asked. Slenderman still hadn't explained that to him or (y/n). "They passed out due to their body undergoing the recent changes. It seems their altered DNA remained somewhat dormant. But when the explosion happened and they breathed in the radiation, the DNA finally activated. It might take a while for the body to get used to the change."
Slenderman paused, letting the information sink in. He couldn't imagine what the survivor was going through. "Toby, how about you take them to their room. They should get some rest." And with that, Slenderman disappeared.
~Time Skip~
Toby lead (Y/n) down a hall with many dark wood doors. Some of them had names on them, while others were blank. Toby approached a blank door between one that said 'Max' and one that said 'Toby'. "This w-will be your room." Toby said opening the blank door.
Like every unowned bedroom, it was fairly plain. All that occupied the decent sized room was a well made brown themed bed, a bed side table, a lamp on the side table, and a vintage looking vanity set. There was also a window and a door leading to a bathroom.
"There's a-a dresser in the closet with some spare clothes for you. W-we also have a lot of spare b-bed sheets, things to decorate the r-room, and more clothes if y-you need them. Also, l-lucky for you, this is one of th-the bedrooms that has a b-bathroom in it." (Y/n) nodded and walked into their new room, taking it all in.
"P-please get some rest.. y-you need it." Toby said closing the door and leaving. (Y/n) sighed and laid down on the bed. It felt extremely comfortable and they began to feel how truly exhausted they were. They closed their eyes and almost instantly fell asleep.
