Fifteen minutes have past as Max continued to lead (Y/n) through the woods. Not much has been said between the two of them, though. It was mostly quiet. (Y/n) kept their flashlight pointed at the ground so that they don't trip on any foliage. They asked if Max needed the flashlight, but he said no. 'Does he have night vision or something?' They thought.
Max continued walking, staring straight ahead with a blank expression. He was taking (Y/n) to his favorite spot in the forest, a spot that looks absolutely beautiful at night. He had no idea why he was taking them there, but he felt like impressing them. He couldn't wait to see their reaction.
(Y/n)'s POV
"Are we there yet?"
"Almost.."
I sighed, feeling a bit tired. It felt a little unnerving walking through the woods following a probably dangerous 'person' that I barely knew AGAIN.
Why do I always end up in these situations? First it was Toby, now it's Max. I guess I'm following him because I want to get to know him more, but am I truly safe with him? I mean if I wasn't filled with radiation and if I was a normal human, would he have killed me by now? Or does he have a certain type of victim that he prefers? I shook my head, trying not to dwell on those thoughts. Everyone in that mansion has killed at least one person, I have to get used to that. However the reality of the situation was finally getting to me and I'm starting to question why I'm even trusting these people.
I snapped out of my thoughts and pushed them to the back of my mind as I started to see a faint light shining through the trees. What is that?
Max suddenly stopped and turned around. "Close your eyes. I want it to be a surprise." I rolled my eyes but closed them anyways. Despite the dark thoughts I was having moments ago, I was actually pretty eager to see what he wanted to show me.
He took the flashlight and turned it off. He then lead me a little further forward then stopped me. "Open them." I slowly opened my green eyes and gawked at the area around me.
We were now at the entrance of a small, but well lit clearing. My eyes wondered over to a small pond in the middle of the clearing. The light of the moon above us hit the pond in such a precise way that it caused the pond to glow. Its soft glow almost spread completely to the edges of the clearing. Behind the pond stood a weeping willow on the left side, and another one on the right side. Scattered around the clearing, logs laid on the ground as makeshift benches. Fireflies twinkled around us. A bit of ground level fog swirled around the pond area, completing this clearing's beauty. A smile grew on my face.
"Wow..." Was all I could say. I was utterly speechless.
Max's POV
Standing next to (Y/n), I gaze at the clearing as well. No matter how many times I come here, it still amazes me.
"Wow.." They said. I looked at them and smiled softly under my mouth mask. They continue to gaze in wonder, and I find myself staring at them instead of the clearing. Their dark hair looked like mesmerizing waves in the pond's glow and their eyes were as bright as ever.
(Y/n) finally looked over at me, catching me staring. "What?" They said, turning to me. "N-nothing.." I said looking away from them. Why was I staring? I pushed the thought out of my head and took off my mask. They wanted to get to know me, so may as well take it off.

After sitting down on a log, we started talking a bit. I decided to open up and tell them my story. How I died, how I came back to life, some powers I got from coming back alive, etc. "So after practically being driven mad by Slenderman I couldn't take it anymore and.." I shifted my hoodie to reveal a never healing wound on my neck. "..I did it. Of course that spirit wolf, Ōkami, wouldn't let me die so.. here I am."
After I finished, I looked over at (Y/n) and they looked as confused as ever. I almost laughed. "So Ōkami became one with you to save you and now you have red eyes and you've become basically a mix between a wolf and an undead human?" They asked, as if it was the craziest thing in the world. "Yep" I said chuckling. "It sounds crazy when you put it like that though."
All of a sudden, their eyes widened as if they came to a realization. "Wait a minute.. you said you can shape shift into a red eyed wolf now." They said standing up. I looked at them, unsure where this was going. "Yeah?"
They frowned a little at me. "That afternoon when I came home on the last day of high school... I saw a red eyed wolf by the forest." At that point I realized that they have put two and two together. I guess deep down, I had hoped they'd never realize this.
"That was you.. wasn't it?"
