Max's POV
I look up at the sky as the sun begins to rise. Next to me, was a sleeping (Y/n) with their head on my shoulder. After I calmed them down last night, we sat down in front of one of the weeping willows and before I knew it they fell asleep. Of course, I slept a bit too.. but I guess I had more trouble sleeping than they did. They were out cold.I thought about picking them up and carrying them back to the mansion, but I was afraid of waking them up. After everything they've been through, they need the sleep. I still don't know why I care about them so much. Ever since I learned about them, I've been pretty attached. I guess I see myself in them.
As the sun rose, the glow of the pond slowly disappeared. The area wasn't as magical during the day. Looking down at (Y/n), I decide it's time to bring them back. I stood up and carefully picked them up bridal style so they don't wake. I then begin carrying them through the trees.
As I reach the clearing where the mansion is, (Y/n) begins to stir.
(Y/n)'s POV
I woke up only to realize I was being carried. 'What the hell?' Looking up to see whoever's carrying me, I noticed it's Max and blushed a little. I wriggled out of his arms only to fall on to the ground. He chuckled and I glared at him. "Hey, that was your fault, not mine." He said smiling a bit. "Whatever." I stood up and saw that we were at the mansion now. Not saying anything, I walked to the front door with Max following behind.
~~~By noon, everyone knew that Max had told me everything. A few people were mad at him for telling me. But it's not like he had a choice. I would've gotten it out of him sooner or later.
I walked into the living room, bored. Ben and Jack were in there. Ben was playing a video game and Jack seemed to be off in his own world staring out a window. I sighed and plopped down on the couch. "Do you think I'll be able to meet any of the semi permanent residents soon?" Ben shrugged. "The thing about them is that they never tell us when they are coming back..." He said, continuing to be focused on the game.
All of a sudden the front door slammed open and in walked a guy I've never seen before. He had paper white skin, a white hoodie, long black hair, and a carved smile. Also, I don't think he ever blinked.. does he even have eyelids? "Speak of one of the devils." Ben said casually. I assumed this guy was a semi resident. He didn't seem friendly though.
"Who the hell is this?" The guy said coldly, walking into the living room. Not taking his eyes off the screen, Ben replied. "Jeff, this is (Y/n). (Y/n), this is Jeff." I waved at Jeff and he rolled his eyes. "Great. Another freak living here."
Anger boiled inside me. I stood up and punched Jeff in the face before storming up to my room.
