Unknown POV
My blood red eyes linger on my bosses face.. well, the area where there's supposed to be a face. Despite how long I've been here, I still don't think I've gotten completely used to him not having one. I adjust my mouth mask absent mindedly.
Me, and three other proxies, stood in an office waiting intently to hear what our boss has to tell us. I glanced around and noticed Toby wasn't there. Guess he's still trying to get the survivor here?
The boss began speaking in our heads.
"As you've all heard, a whole town was recently wiped out because of the towns nuclear power plants exploding. I called you here to pass onto you crucial information about them and the survivor Max found." He gestured in my direction when he said Max.
He continued. "You should know these nuclear power plants weren't just ordinary power plants. The radiation and radioactive materials there were specially made. Certain scientists were trying to create different formulas of it to use it for their own purposes. I couldn't find any more information on it because they kept it at an extremely low profile. Nevertheless, when the radiation got out during the explosion, it killed everyone. Or so we thought."
He paused to let it sink in before continuing. "Instead of dying like the others a human named (Y/N) ended up surviving... Since the radiation didn't kill them, we should continue to assume that it did something to them. Like I said, I don't know what these scientists were trying to create with the radioactive material.. so it would be best to keep an eye on (Y/N)."
After about ten minutes of catching us up on everything that he knows, our boss asked if we had any questions. Everyone stood in silence until one of my colleagues, Tim, spoke up. "Why are we even bothering with trying to learn more about this (Y/n)? What's so important about them?"
Our faceless boss stood there, silent. As if contemplating whether or not he should tell us. "Honestly? Curiosity." He said.
Though, I had a feeling there was something a bit more to it. I also felt like there was something he wasn't telling us.
