(Y/n)'s POV
My eyes slowly flutter open, my whole body aching like hell. The world around me feels like it's spinning. My eye sight is blurry, and I can see three figures in front of me. I think they're saying something, but I can't make it out. All I hear is muffled voices and faint ringing. Am I still in the chamber? No, I can't be. From what I can tell I'm on a chair. What's going on?
The aching steadily subsides, replacing it was a euphoric feeling of energy and power. Not long after, my sight and hearing clears up as well. "(Y/n)? (Y/n), Can you hear me?" I slowly nod and take in my surroundings. We haven't left the lab, in fact we were still in the room with the chamber. My eyes wander over to the three guys in front of me: Ben, Toby, and Max. They each had a worried look plastered on their faces, along with anticipation. It seemed as though they are waiting for me to say something.
"You know.. if you guys keep making that face, it might just stay that way." My voice sounded a bit husky, as though I hadn't spoken in a while. Nevertheless, the sarcastic tone was still present and gained a relieved chuckle from Max. Without warning, I suddenly received a tight embrace from Ben. "If I didn't know any better. I'd say you guys were worried about me." I say chuckling, the hoarseness in my voice still eminent. Once Ben released me, I slowly stood up. "So how long was I in there?"
"Two days.. after fifty percent, the process slowed down. Took awhile." Ben said.
"And the DNA is fully activated?"
"Yeah.."
Scanning their faces, I noticed all three of them were still looking at me like I was a ticking time bomb. It was starting to irritate me. "What?" I said, a hint of annoyance resonating in my voice. The raspiness in it was starting to fade. They all give each other a look.
"Honestly, it w-was touch and go for a while. In fact y-your heart stopped at a hundred p-percent.. but thankfully it st-started up again." Toby paused. "H-How do you feel, (Y/n)?"
I hadn't noticed this before, but they all looked extremely exhausted. I felt bad for putting my friends through that. Not wanting to stress them anymore, I kept my answer vague. "Never better.." I say, shrugging. Of course, they could see right through me. Max spoke up this time, giving me a stern look. "No, really. How did you feel during and after? Be specific."
"Fine. During the whole process I felt like my body was being repeatedly beaten by a giant hammer. It also felt like I was being ripped apart from the inside out... But shortly after I woke up the pain went away and I started to feel great. Euphoric even." All three of them slowly nod, they all looked deep in thought. I'm not sure if what I felt is a good sign or not, but it seemed like they didn't know either. "We should head b-back to the mansion. Tell Slenderman the n-news." Toby said, breaking the deafening silence.
And with that, we left the lab.
