I stare in disbelief at what I just did. 'Nice job, (Y/N). You just punched a guy, who has bloody hatchets and is probably a killer, in the face.' Blinking away my racing thoughts I focus on Toby.
His goggles had fallen off and a bruise was forming on the cheek that I punched. He held his cheek for a few seconds, but it didn't seem like it actually hurt him. What is it with this guy? Picking up his goggles, he stays silent. This scared me even more.
Surely he'll understand, right? I mean, everyone I know is dead, the town I grew up in is in ruins, and I'm probably the only survivor. So of course he'll understand that I'm just completely overwhelmed. Right?
Toby put his goggles back on and before I knew it, I was being pinned to a tree with a hatchet on my throat. "N-now, here's how th-this is gonna g-go. I'm going to t-take this off y-your neck and you'll follow m-me without question. I understand y-you haven't had time t-to adjust and you h-have no idea what's g-going on, b-but.. Suck. It. U-Up. We'll have time to t-talk about it l-later. Right now, I-I just need you to follow m-me. Mkay?"
With that, he took the hatchet off my throat and unpinned me. He stared at me waiting for an answer. 'I'm so gonna regret this.' I thought and sighed. "Fine. But only because you asked soo politely." I said sarcastically.
Despite the goggles, I could visibly see his eyes roll. Toby turned around and began walking again, like nothing happened. I followed reluctantly.
