"Their heart did what?!" Slenderman's voice sounded calm, but angry. The whole mansion remained deadly silent. He's scary when he's mad. "There was nothing we could do.. and they're heart is fine now.." Ben said meekly. I don't think I've ever seen him like this. "That's not what frustrates me and you know it. Why is this the first I'm hearing of this?!" Slender was starting to raise his voice. "We w-were panicking! We're sorry boss!" Toby said lowering his head.
"Well, it doesn't matter now. Does it? Yes their heart stopping for even thirty seconds could have ill effects, but (Y/n) still made it. And that's what matters." Max snapped back. He had a look of defiance that was quickly starting to fade, as if he just realized that he snapped at the one and only Slenderman. I shifted uncontrollably on my feet at the intense feeling in the air. Someone please talk soon.
The tense feeling seemed to steadily go away as Slender slowly nodded. "You're right. Although I detest your attitude, you're right." Slender's faceless head turned to me. "Euphoric?" He paused, thinking. "We'll need to get an assessment of what the activated DNA did to you. From the sounds of it you might've gained some abilities."
I smirked a bit. The thought of me having some sort of power or powers was awesome to me. The others had a faint look of nervousness in their eyes. "What?" I asked, my smirk fading. "(Y/n), powers are cool and all.. but the DNA could have also changed you in other ways." Ben said, concerned. I furrowed my brows, "what do you mean?"
"Sometimes, becoming something less than human changes one's psyche. Just remember that if you're not carful, that power could control you. Consume you. Turn you into something you're not."
I nodded, taking a deep breath. I could tell they were all worried for me. It was like I was family. I liked that feeling.
Time Skip
Slender decided that we can start figuring out my powers tomorrow. However, in the meantime, he wants me to start picking out a weapon or weapons just in case my powers can't protect me enough. Why do I need protection? No idea. Probably because I'm living in a world full of monsters and this mansion is at the center of it. Duh.
Anyways this was exciting to me that I'll get to explore their weapons room. He also decided to have Jeff come with me to do it. I was less excited about that.
Jeff and I walked in silence as we made our way to the third floor. We stopped at a door next to the huge training room that they had. "Here." Jeff opened the door and gestured for me to go in. As I stepped into the room, I couldn't help but gaze in awe at all the drawers and display cases. Jeff walked me over to a big table in the middle of the room.
"Mkay. Let's keep this brief. In this room, and the back room, we have practically every weapon known to mankind and more." He said that last part in a bragging voice. Dick. "You can take whatever weapon or weapons that feel right, you'll be able to personalize it however you want, then you'll be taught you how to use it.. or them." He sighed and sat on the table. "Any questions? No? Okay. Hop to it."
I rolled my eyes before starting to look around.
Jeff's POV
"So what kind of weapon are you thinking of getting? Melee? Long distance? Chains and whips? Other? A small ass stick?" I asked in a fit of boredom."No idea."
"Lethal or nonlethal?"
"No idea."
"Big or small?"
"No idea."
"Heavy or light?"
"No idea."
"What about the origin of the weapon? Japanese, European, etc?"
"No idea."I groaned and sighed loudly. They chuckled. How rude. I can already tell this is going to be a huge waste of my time.. Though seeing (Y/n)'s face filled with wonder as they examined every single weapon they could find, made the wait worth it.
