"So he confessed?" Mitsuki's vocals came through seconds behind her mouth.

"Yeah." Katsuki slouched further in his chair. "He did. About a week ago."

"Oh!" Katsuki didn't miss the way Masaru nudged his wife, the exaggerated facial expression. "Oh." Eyes widened, fingers worried over one another. "So-"

"Quit fucking walking on goddamn eggshells, assholes!" Katsuki sat straight, hovering over the screen. "I said I would stay till the goddamn plane was done and I fucking will. Christ!"

"You-!" Mitsuki's face reddened, her hair appearing even more pale for it. She ran her hand through her hair, patting her bun. "You are going through something right now."

"Are you okay, Son?" Masaru shifted closer to the screen, to his wife. The kind smile; calm voice.

So familiar.

Katsuki covered his face, chuckled though it was wet and pathetic. He knew what about Eijirou he found so soothing now. The ice he'd been skating on cracked, the cold water below seeping up his feet, ankles, soaking into his jeans, wicking up his legs...

"No!" The word was whined, choked. Desperate. Sloppy.

Drowning.

Katsuki pulled his knees up to his chest.

Drowning. Drowning. Drowning.

"-suki, Katsuki?!"

Cold. It was so cold. He had forgotten how cold, so cold, it had been. How lonely, how empty- Katsuki looked up, blinked away the tears, letting them fall shamelessly. No one.

Nothing.

Shadows and ghosts and nothing.

"H-he said he can't be with me." Katsuki swallowed the sobs, inhaled the emotions. Wiped his face. He was talking too fast, breathing too shallow.

I forgot my medication... Should have enough built up- But that didn't stop the demons climbing across the walls.

Tap.

Tap.

Tapping on his windows.

Howling, whispering, slithering across his big, wide, empty wooden floors.

I'm waiting, Katsuki. Waiting.

"Why do I even fucking try?" Katsuki whispered into the sleeves of his shirt. "What's the point? It's always the same. No one wants me." He could see the specters waiting just beyond the glass. "I'm broken."

"No, 'Suki. Honey-"

"Mom!" Katsuki glared sightless towards the screen. "Maybe..." Hands tangled in hair. "Maybe I'm just cursed. Maybe-"

"Bakugou Katsuki." Mistuki cut in. "You sad sack of shit. You're going to let one man turn you into this? If you want him so bad, fight for him. When has a Bakugou ever, ever just lain down and given up?!" She scoffed, "fucking pathetic brat. I can't believe I birthed you."

Katsuki blinked, peered out at the darkness around him. "You know what?" He grinned wicked, "Yeah. Fuck him."

"That's my boy!" Mitsuki crowed, shaking Masaru excitedly.

Masaru laughed half-heartedly. "S-should we really encourage-"

"I'll make him regret it. I'll fucking show him who I am." Katsuki straightened, running a hand through his unwashed hair. "He's gunna be so sorry. He has no idea."
