"And that's it." Ei made a show of dusting off his hands as he strode out of the Dean's office. "All my books are turned in, all my classes are signed out of..." He swallowed hard, blinked harder. "I-It's over."
"Just here." Katsuki pushed off the wall, tossing Ei his sadly empty backpack. "You can start again in Japan. Probably actually focus on a degree instead of whatever hodge podge this was." Katsuki motioned aimlessly.
Ei laughed, arm sliding back into its place around Katsuki's shoulders as he waved with his free hand to a group of students.
"It's fine!" Ei shouted, motioning them to continue. "See ya later!"
It killed Katsuki to see the smile fade. "Should we... have a party?"
"Nah." Ei tried to smile. "It'll just... be worse." Arm tightened. "I think it'll hurt more to say goodbye-"
"You've got a real problem with that." Katsuki retorted dryly. "You and goodbye have some serious issues."
"I guess." Ei paused, looking up at the sky. "It's going to rain." He inhaled deeply, chest brushing against Katsuki. "I can smell it, can't you?"
Eyes looked up to the weirdly sunny California sky, the still painfully warm heat bearing down. But somehow Katsuki knew Eijirou was right. He could feel it in his body, in his blood.
"Yeah." Katsuki looked down at his hand, aware of the sympathy he felt for Ei burning within him. That same ball of emotion.
Was he the one-? Was he the reason the weather was changing? Was he bringing about the rain? Water was never his element, fire was always... Wasn't it? Born of a star, buried under a river-
"What are you thinking, Bakubro?"
"Yelch." Katsuki shoved out from under Eijirou, "Don't call me that!"
"You looked like you were having heavy thoughts." Eijirou reached back, pulling Katsuki along to the dorms by his wrist, then his hand as Katsuki moved to Eijirou's side.
"I was wondering... if I'm still tied to some of the kitsune's powers." Katsuki turned away from Ei's side eye. "Back at the mountain I made it blizzard." Grip tightened. "Because I was so fucking depressed. I wonder if I'm making it rain here because-"
"Are you depressed again?"
"Fuckin' no." Katsuki snorted, "But I am... Uhg." Eyes rolled. "I am sad for you. That you have to leave. And maybe-"
"Ah." Arm pulled Katsuki closer, lips found a temple. "My manly Kat is so fucking sexy changing the weather for me."
Katsuki couldn't help the thrill that ran through him at the gravel in Eijirou's voice, the tickle of his thumb skimming over Katsuki's arm, the little kisses pressed to his skin again and again.
"Did that really turn you on?" Katsuki pulled away to look at Ei, shocked to see those red eyes on fire.
"Fuck yes." Eijirou smiled, "Knowing you care about me is the sexiest fucking thing-" He paused to hold open the dorm doors, allowing Katsuki to enter first, smacking his ass as he passed.
"You-!" Katsuki bit his tongue as a student walked by, shooting them an odd look.
Eijirou laughed, deep and from his belly as he swept back to Katsuki, pulling him into his arms. "I wish we were alone right now." He whispered, hands roving lower, lower. "I'd totally let you fuck me-"
"Jesus Christ, Ei." Katsuki narrowed his gaze accusatory. "You're being a fucking dick you know that?"
"I do." Brow rose as he lowered his lips to capture Katsuki's, ignoring everyone around them in the hallway, falling against a wall. "Don't mind them." Ei pulled away to whisper, to nibble on Katsuki's neck. "People make out all the time out here."
