Chapter 4

They all sat awkwardly, Yu smiling her gentle smile.

Y/N stared down at her hands folded in her lap as strands of hair fell too. She was nervous to look up, but she wanted to examine the three boys more. Suddenly the red haired male spoke up.

"I'm Tanjiro Kamado, nice to meet you!" He said, almost kind of brightly. Y/N slowly looked up, before her eyes landed on the box sitting not so far away from him. Curiosity flowed through her, what was inside of it?

"This one is Inosuke Hashibira, and this one is Zenitsu Agatsume." Tanjiro introduced. The hog head dude, Inosuke, seemed to blow steam out of the mask Y/N supposed he was wearing, unless it was his real head..

The Zenitsu guy seemed nervous, and slightly fidgeted with his thumbs.

"Well, I'm Yuki. But you can call me Ms. Yu. Or just Yu. This is Y/N L/N, she's my... how do I put this... Ah, yes. Helper and close friend, like family."

She smiled to know Yu treated and thought of her as a relative. "I-i'll go get some robes for them to wear.." Y/N offers, and stands up, running off.

Yu continued to smile softly, "Mind if you hand me your clothes to wash? It seems quite dirty. The robes are very comfortable, so I don't believe you'll have a problem staying in them."

"A-ah! はい(hai; yes)!" Tanjiro answered, as Y/N came back with the three, fluffy white robes.

"You also seem to be suffering from severe wounds, from the way you speak and move. Would you like Y/N and I to help treat them?"

Zenitsu was sitting outside, enjoying the peace and silence. It's been quite a while since he's had some quiet time, especially since Inosukes always been yelling.

Hugging his legs tighter, his mind drifted off to the girl. She was quite pretty, with her [H/C], [H/L] hair, and her [E/C] eyes. It almost kind of reminded him of flowers.

"H-hello? You're Zenitsu.. right?" Zenitsu looked behind him to see the girl again, cowering nervous behind the sliding door.

After staring at her features for a while, he finally answers with "Ah- Yeah.."

The girl comes over to sit next to him. "You must be looking at the stars right now.. They're really beautiful in this part of town." She said quietly, folding her hands in her lap.

Zenitsu swallowed nervously, burrowing himself more. "Yeah.. It's calming.."

Y/N glanced at him, noticing his tensed up muscles. "Are you okay? You seem very tense. Ms. Yu taught me how to ease muscles.. would you like me to-?"

"No, no! It's okay, really." Zenitsu says, smiling slightly, glancing around anxiously. "Sorry if I'm acting wierd.. It's just I'm not really-"

He glanced at her to only get caught in her appearances again, after a little she said, "Really what?" (In an innocent type way).

"R-really.. really.. free! Yeah. Uhm, you've heard of demon slayer right..?"

Y/Ns face brightens up, "Of course! Yu always mentions them, and I've always wanted to meet one. You're one right? I saw your katana-sword thing near your newly washed clothing. Can you teach me some moves? I want to know how to use a sword, just in case I need go defend myself!"

Zenitsu took a little moment to admire her smile and brightness, before nodding. "Yeah sure. But, you can't really defend yourself from demons without a nichirin sword.."

"Ni..chirin..sword?" She worded out, looking at him cluelessly.

"It's the sword you saw earlier-"

And the two practically spent almost the whole night learning, and teaching, each other.

Reader P.O.V.

You flinch and wake up to a drop of water falling onto your nose. You felt the warmth and texture of a blanket ariujnd yourself and look around, noticing that the boy from yesterday was next to you, sleeping silently.

Feeling a heat rise to your faces you try to fan yourself from the heat, thinking it was too hot, although it was a a chilly morning. In the position you two were in, you were guessing that your head was on his shoulder.

Nervously you glance back at Zenitsu, you believe, pursing your lips. Slowly, you start to get up, trying not to wake up the other. However, you were never aware that he had very good hearing.

As you got inside, Yu was just sitting, tending to Tanjiros and Inosukes wound. "Did you hear? I can do it myself!" Inosuke, or hog head to you, yelled at Yu, who didn't really pay attention to his words.

"Oh, Y/N.. Can you attend to Tanjiros wounds?" She asked, nodding her head at the bandaid wrap on the floor next to her. You nod and come over, sitting down behind Tanjiro.

"Sorry if it starts hurting.." You say, before starting to wrap it around his torso.

"It's fine, I can handle it... Where's Zenitsu? What were you doing outside anyways?" Tanjiro suddenly asks, making you freeze up before moving again.

"I.. I just fell asleep outside. The sky was beautiful yesterday, so I wanted to fall asleep watching it. I have no idea where Zenitsu is though." You partly lied. It was true that the night sky was extraordinarily outstanding yesterday, but you couldn't bring yourself to admit what really happened.

Tanjiro nodded slowly, almost knowingly. You started to feel uncomfortable, did he know what really happened?

"Okay. This should be enough." You try changing the subject, tying it tightly. "Is it too tight? Or is it too loose?"

"It's good enough. Thank you." He thanks smiling, which you slightly admired.

"I should probably look for Zenitsu.."

And right on time the blonde slid the door open from the outside, and walked in. "Nnghh...." He groaned, laying down on the floor. "I'm still sleepy.."

"You can stay tonight too if you want, and many nights after. It's been a while since we had any visitors." Yu suggested, "Plus, a festival is coming up. Don't worry, there will be wisteria trees all around, demons won't dare to come."

The three seemed to hesitate for a while, before finally agreeing. You felt oddly happy, although you've only met the three for less than 24 hours.

And when you glanced back at the blonde, he was caught staring.
