Chapter 26

Nezuko followed after you, "N-nezuko! Nezuko I need you to try and cut the ropes! Make sur-"

You felt sometime bulgy grab you by the arm and nearly squish it, "A-Agh!" You looked at your left arm completely emerged into some clump.

Nezuko set it ablaze, helping you take out your arm, "...Thank you Nezuko.." You awarded her by petting her head with your right hand. She hummed happily.

"We must help the others, make sure it doesn't reach the passengers." You equipped your blade and sliced one of the related bulges before it could reach a passenger.

"Y/N! I've found a way to let the passengers out of the train safely, I'll carry them one by one!"

She looked at Nezuko before looked at you confusedly. "Isn't that.. a demon..?"

You nodded, "But she's on our side, I promise. She's Tanjiros little sister."

Hamako nodded and took the passenger you recently saved, "Clear the exit for me, please!"

You followed her plead, and used one of the chairs back rest as a platform to launch yourself forward. Bracing yourself, you brought down your sword with all your strength managing to slice the obstacle in front of Hamako out of the way.

She exited the car, leaving you and Nezuko to protect and supply Hamako with unconscious passengers. As you continued, you happened to see Nezuko getting trapped in between the hand-things. "Nezuko!"

You tried to get to her, but the similar things were blocking your way. She was too far for you to reach, "..Nezuko!" You yelled, looking fearfully at her.

But, miraculously, a flash of lightning cut it's way through, cutting every hand-thing in sight. It seemed familiar, and when the figure stopped you felt an enormous amount of relief wash over you. "Z..zenitsu.." Your voice shook but quickly went towards the two.

You embraced Nezuko, who hugged you back, "Are you alright..? Nezuko.. oh my god..."

Nezuko hummed and held your hand, nuzzling against it. You looked at Zenitsu, who was snoring away, ...He was sleeping.. while fighting..? Wow~

Hamako came back, breathing heavily. "W-wait, what happened to all the.." She shook her head, "Nevermind, we just need to get the passengers out of here. We have at least two more cars."

You let Nezuko go and help Hamako, heading over to Zenitsu, "..Hey. Zenitsu-kun?"

You looked at his sleeping face, "Hm-"

"If he's unconscious, and he is able to fight while sleeping.. He will be able to defend us while we get the passengers..."

You stood in front if him, looking at his face intently. "Alright.." You gripped his left hand with your right, and led him towards where Nezuko and Hamako were.

His hand felt warm, warmer and more comforting than anyone else's hand. It made you feel safe.

It made you never want to let go.
