Chapter 32

Everyone seemed to be startled by the bang, and you desperately ran towards a nearby window and slid it open.

A gust of wind hit you in the face, and a piece of debris scratched your left cheek, leaving a trail of blood from the cut. You looked up and saw that one of a nearby house (once perfectly intacted) had a hole in the roof.

"Hamako! Make sure to evacuate the family to safety, anywhere away from here." You hopped onto the window frame of the roof.

"Nee-san!" Hamako ran towards you and grabbed your hand before you could jump down, "Its too dangerous to go alone!"

You looked back and sighed, patting her head, "I'll be fine, Hamako."

When you got to the destroyed building you saw four people, two familiar and the other two not. "Tanjiro, Nezuko!?" You exclaimed, but then the two demons at the end of the room caught your eye.

As one of them were about to slam a staff, you instinctively jumped back before bolts of lightning spread throughout the floor. Tanjiro was in range of the shock.

"Tanjiro!"

You were about to run up and try to help him, but a piercing bang rang throughout the room causing your ears to ring.

When you looked up, one of the demons heads were flying off and the other was loosely hanging. But they didn't seem fazed by it.

The guy holding a gun charged past you and successfully slid his blade through the neck of the demon. Tanjiro suddenly started yelling, but you couldn't make it out much since the ringing was deafening.

The only word you could make out was 'Genya', and you assumed that was the Unknown guys name.

Then you noticed that instead of disintegrating, the demons formed new bodies. Your eyes widened. Were they morphed?

One of them had wings, it was coming towards Tanjiro. You were about to warn him but it was far too late.

Movement caught your eye, and out of habit took out your blade and deflected an attack attempted from one of the demons, "..Nezuko!" You looked to the side at her.

"Don't get distracted."

You suddenly were hit from your side and was sent tumbling to your right, and contacted a wall harshly. As you fell to the ground, you rolled to the side to avoid yet another attempted attack from the demon.

Crouching low, you wiped your mouth from the blood dripping. "J..jesus give me a break." You were about to stand up when a horrible cough formed in your throat, and you spit out blood. You could barely even grip your blade.

Before he could land another attack, he got kicked to the side. Nezuko stood in front and looked at you worriedly.

You brightened up, "Nezuko!" ...But it wasn't the time to rejoice, because Genya was still in danger. Nezuko charged off to fight the other demons.

Great job Nezuko.. distract him for me.. for me to find an opening, You looked straight ahead, as fast as you could manage, and were about to stab your blade straight into the back of the one with the staff when you felt a severe shock run through your body. And you fell.

"You idiot... did you think you could reach me that easily?" He said, looking behind and down at you.

Your body shivered, but the numbness was far too overwhelming. You could barely move.

You looked up and grinned, "Yeah, guess you're easier than I anticipated.."

You, with all your might, sliced your blade to the right.

It was deep, yes, but it wasn't enough. You scolded yourself mentally for that.

You were kicked to the side, "You really thought that was enough to kill me.."

He seemed to think you were dead, you certainly felt like it, because he left and went towards Nezuko. And started shocking her.

You felt a wave of guilt, you could barely speak. "..Nezuko..!" It barely came out as a whisper.

Your blade. Where was it? You couldn't find it anywhere. Your vision was absolutely blurry.

"Nezuko! Genya! Y/N!"
