Chapter 28

You awoken in the familiar bed.

You slowly lifted yourself up from the bed, tiredly looking around at the bright room your eyes tried to adjust to the bright room. Hamako, as usual, slept next to you, and you were relieved to see that her wounds were treated, and she was sleeping peacefully.

A knock came from your side, and you looked at the direction to see a familiar worker. "S-sakura-san!"

She seemed to smile behind her mask. "I'm glad you remember me." She headed near you, and sat on the vacant bed on the right side of you. "I hope you and your friend are holding up alright, I heard it was quite scary on your mission."

You nodded, sighing, "..I have an odd feeling that I didn't do well enough, or do enough in general.. Hamako probably did all the work.. I just stayed back and-"

You heard rustling from Sakura, and looked at her. You didn't noticed the box in her lap until now, and saw that where was Daifuku Mochi in it. "..Woah- C..can I have one?"

She chuckled and handed one to you, "I made it for you and her anyways. I thought you might like it, and turns out you did." She smiled softly through her mask (you could just tell).

"..Hey Sakura. I've been meaning to ask you.. why are you so nice to me and Hamako?"

Her eyes turned sad, "..I haven't told you this before, have I?"

You looked concerningly confused at her, "Is there something you want to talk about?"

She shook her head, indicating a 'no', "No worries. I believe I have some tasks to finish, I'll leave for now.. excuse me."

You couldn't shake off the feeling she was hiding something.

You roamed the halls after getting used to your wobbly legs, or maintaining them. You didn't know.

You heard yelling you instinctively flipped your head towards that direction and ran to it, "Zenitsu! I'm so sorry!"

You approached them and Kiyo was kneels next to Zenitsu, asking if he was okay, "No, it's fine, I'm fine."

"..Kiyo..?"

Kiyo looked at you and had tears in her eyes, "Y-y/n-chan..."

"Wahhh- I accidentally bumped into Zenitsu, now he's bleeding." She wailed while holding a towel to his nose.

"It's okay, Kiyo. Like you said, it was accidental." You looked at her, patting her head reassuringly.

"..Where's Tanjiro..?" You asked suddenly, she immediately answered.

"Tanjiro is nowhere to be found, he kept on training. Shinobu was very livid. She threatened him to rest but.." She stopped, in tears again. You comforted her and Zenitsu went up to look into the room.

"His wound was bad, and he still went out.."

"Is he crazy-!?"

hAHa, I forgot Sakura until now.. ;o;
