Chapter 13

It was extremely hard trying to greet Zenitsu.

Every 'Hello', 'Hi', or 'What's up?' was contacted with a wall, and he ran away.

You sat down on a nearby bench, sighing in defeat. You had nobody to talk to since Hamako was still fast asleep, so you bothered yourself with fiddling a peice of red string tied on a black ball. "Hello!"

You looked up to see three little girls, with attractive eyes. "I'm Sumi," a girl with light blue butterfly wings in her two pigtailed hair introduced.

"I'm Kiyo." The other girl with let down hair, clipped with two butterfly wing pins in her hair said.

"And I'm Naho." And the last girl with two braids and butterfly wings pins on each finished.

"Oh, hello. I'm Y/N, Y/N L/N. I've never seen you three before.." You curiously smiled, but it quickly faded away when you realized the possibility of them being here, "Are you three hurt? Why are children like you here?" It hurt you to hear about the injuries they could've gotten when facing demons, or anything dangerous. What hurt even more is that they could be in the Demon Slaying Corps, at their young age.

Thankfully, they simply nodded, "No no, you've got it all wrong. We are assistants to Master here, we never got hurt."

You sighed briefly, "That's good to hear. I wouldn't want the Corp having such young children in the affiliation." You saw in your peripheral vision a yellowish fluffy baggage being held out from Sumi. "We brought this for you, we noticed you didn't have anything to eat yet so we decided to made one and give it to you."

You smiled at their generosity. "Thank you. I owe you three for this one." You didn't realize how hungry you were until you took a bite of the sticky, sweet dessert. You didn't know what it was, but it was very delicious and sweet smelling. When you finished, you thanked the three again and decided to head outside for a breather.

Very silently, you sat down on the edge of the porch and stared out calmly. You didn't notice Hamako sneaking up behind you until she yelled loudly, "Boo!"

Flipping your head around violently, you punched her playfully and ineffectively, "You scared me, idiot! I could've had a heart attack."

She giggled, "Mhm.." She decided to sit next to you and stared at the clouds, "Thanks for carrying me all the way to safety, I was afraid you would've abandoned me and left me there to die."

You looked at her, "What do you mean? How did you know I carried you to them-?"

Hamako nervously fiddled her fingers, "I might've been awake most of the time.."

You felt as if you were bound to explode that moment, but you kept your composure, "You nearly killed me when I dragged you there and back.." You mumbled grimly.

She smiled happily, "At least you and I are alive!" Hamako stood up and held her hands to her hips, "Let's start over our friendship. I'm Hamako, Hamako Tsuguko!"

Her cheerful attitude eliminated your grumpiness, "And I am Y/N L/N, nice to meet you.. Hamako Tsuguko." You smiled at her.

This time, you felt as if this friendship were for real.
