Chapter 16

You and Hamako watched silently as Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu trained nonstop. "What are they doing?"

"I don't know.." You answered, as you and Hamako peered at the three. Tanjiro shouts his nonstop, motivational compliments while Inosuke and Zenitsu ran on fences and pulled heavy stuff around. It was quite horrifying, but they looked like they were enjoying it.

"Why don't you two join them?" A soft, welcoming voice says behind you two. You turned around and saw the familiar face as earlier, when this particular women visited you and Hamako.

"Ah! Shinobu-san!" You gleefully greet. Her smile widens slightly.

"You remember me.. it's been a while since our last greeting." Shinobu looked at Hamako, "You must be Hamako right? I heard you had a pretty deep cut around your ankle, apparently you lost about half a gallon of blood. I'm very impressed to see you still alive, and active."

Hamako blushed slightly before nodding, "I-its kind of running in the family.."

"I believe you two will be perfect friends for Kanao, she's so silent and alone all the time. She will be glad to have friends like you two."

You and Hamako exchanged glances, "You mean the girl with that cute butterfly clip, tying her hair up?" Shinobu nodded and gestured for you two to follow her.

As you two followed her, your mind wandered to Zenitsu. He looked extremely tired, from all the practicing, but it was necessary, was it not? Whatever it was, you didn't want to concern yourself with it. It looked excruciatingly challenging.

"Kanao. Come over here for a moment." Shinobu quickly called her over.

"These two are Y/N, and Hamako. I believe you three would be good friends." Kanao looked at you two before flipping out a coin. When she caught it, she glanced at it for a while before smiling up at you two.

"I'm Kanao." She simply said with a gentle smile.

You and Hamako looked at each other before grinning and (each of you) grabbing one of her arms. "Come on! We've got something to show you!" Hamako said as you, her, and Kanao burst down the hallway. She seemed suprised at first, but then followed along.

Shinobu watched as you three ran away, before sighing. "..I wonder where Tomioka-san is.."

"Come on! Harder!" Tanjiro yelled inspiringly, also training with the other two boys.

They continued on for what seemed like forever, until they ended up dropping. Inosuke decided to continue on, even though he was obviously worn out.

He continued to run around asnd shout random nonsense with his competitive self. Tanjiro looked at Zenitsu, "Do you know where Y/N-chan is? Since we've known her for quite a while, I think she'd be a great care taker for Nezuko."

Zenitsu froze at the mention of you, before quickly shaking his head in fright, "Nope, not at all. Never seen her in weeks."

Tanjiro stared at him suspiciously before snapping his head to Inosuke who had suddenly fallen from the fence he was running on, "I-Inosuke!" He exclaimed before running off to help him.

Zenitsu stared thoughtfully at the sky, his eyebrows curling into a worried stance. "Would she even want to talk to me again?"

In the span of an hour and a half, Kanao was having a great time with you two. You three ran across the roof of buildings, painted on canvases, making beautiful flower crowns or accessories, and other enjoyable things. By now, you three were snacking on some Onigiri.

"Oh, Kanao, I've been always curious of why you flip a coin before you talk. Why's that?" Hamako suddenly asked. Kanao looked at her and swallowed down her bite.

"It is to help me make decisions.. I'm.. an indecisive person." She took our the coin and showed it to us, "I usually use this coin to choose whether or not to do that decision or not."

You and Hamako listened intently to her little short story. Kanao had always seemed like an aloof, or unapproachable, female. But now that she's shown more emotion than what she had with others, you and Hamako felt more comfortable around her aura, since it seems to have changed ever since Hamako and you hung out with her.

"That's surprising. You always seem like an independent girl. I envied you, and still do, in a way because of how strong you seem." You fiddled with your fingers as you confessed.

It was silent throughout the room for a while before there was a silent laughing. You and Hamako looked at Kanao, who was genuinely giggling. "Ever since I've met you two, you've always been so nice to me. I feel like I can open up more around you two because of your kindness. Thank you."

You and Hamako stared at her before embracing each other in your arms, "That's so sweet of you Kanao! I feel like crying," Hamako said, smiling idiotically, "And kindness is only part of a deep friendship, you're a fun girl Kanao-chan."

Kanao stared at her for a bit before a gentle smile crossed her face, "So are you two.."

Hehe. Such a cute moment.

Kanao is one of my favorite characters in KNY, I've decided to add her into your friend group between you and Hamako. It's a good mix, right?

Anyways, I can not believe the amount of views this book has! It's surprising. I'm so thankful for the reads. And although I'm on break, in still busy with my life schedule (I honestly don't know how I fit in writing fanfiction :0) so please be patient between the chapters! Find a better story than whatever bull crap I write :3
