Serial killer AU.
Tae is your crazy rich ex boyfriend (his family are powerful politicians) and when people from your school start to go missing, you have a gut feeling that he's involved.

"How'd things go with Tae?"
Jimin asked his best friend.
"Well, it's definitely over between us but I don't think he took it too well."
Y/n sighed, remembering the night before.
His ex hadn't taken the break up very well and Y/n had to drag him out of the house and lock the doors.
"At least it's over though!"
Someone said before jumping on the, now single, boy's back.
"I know but I still feel uneasy Kookie. Something about him has just been strange lately."
"Don't stress over it, Kookie and I will kick his ass if he tries anything."
Jimin smiles brightly while Jungkook nods in agreement.

Classes had gone by smoothly for the three friends, not seeing Taehyung at all. It became more than concerning when he didn't even show up for the test. His family, no matter how sick he was, always made him come to school for tests. They wanted him to continue their legacy as high ranking politicians.

A few days had gone by before the first student went missing. He was a kid from Y/n's class called Tyler. He was an exchange student who came from Australia so everyone thought that he had gone to visit family. The day after that, Taehyung showed up to school for the first time since he and Y/n had broken up. He was suspiciously cheery and it made Y/n and his friends uneasy.

Later that night, a body showed up. Tyler, floating along the river with a bullet hole behind his right ear. It sent the town into a panic and school was called of the next day.

Every day that followed, another student went missing, their bodies found the next day, floating along the river.

After the third body, the river was under surveillance. Police cars hid in bushes near by and a helicopter was continuously flying over the area. That only stopped the bodies being dumped in the water, the students, however, were still going missing.

Most local schools cancelled lessons and those that did stay open, had everyone escorted to and from classes. Twenty students had gone missing in less that a month and the entire town had a curfew for people under eighteen.

There was one thing bothering Y/n, however. Taehyung had gone missing but his body had not shown up. Out of all twenty people who had disappeared, Tae was the only one they couldn't confirm dead as his body had never been found. His family had reported him as a missing person but he had never been found. This broke the pattern that the killer had and it made the boy uneasy.

"I'm telling you Jimin, I have watched thousands of crime shows and it's impossible that a killer like this would just keep or hide one body. If he was going to hide one body, why not hide them all? It just doesn't sit well with me."
Jimin looked at his friend in disbelief.
"You can't be saying that you think Tae did it. Sure he was obsessed with you but he wouldn't have gone that far with things!"
"Maybe he would have! You don't know what he's capable of. I don't even know what he's capable of. We need to,"
He paused as he heard a sound outside. It was a dull thud, as if something had fallen from the roof. Looking out the window he screamed.

"So you said that you heard his body fall from your roof, correct?"
Y/n nodded, his eyes puffy and red from crying.
"And you knew this Jeon Jungkook?"
"He was my best friend."
Another loud sob escaped his lips. His chest was tight with anxiety and the fear he felt was unbearable.

He was alone for the next week or so as his mother was on a business trip and could not get home any sooner. Jimin's mother had offered for him to stay with them and he eagerly accepted, terrified of being alone.

Jimin and Y/n were waiting in Ms Park's car, alone. They had a flat tire and she had gone to call a repair truck from the pay phone a few miles back. The rain tapped against the windows as the two sat in silence.
"She's been gone for two hours now, surely she must have come across someone who could help by now."
Y/n said anxiously.
"She'll be back. I know she will."
Jimin was trying to reassure his friend but he knew that something wasn't right.
"She'll be back..."
He said again, almost to try and reassure himself.
"No she won't."
A muffled voice spoke from outside the window. His face was bloody and his mouth formed a wide, boxy smile. Undoubtedly, it was Taehyung.

Jimin looked at Y/n before unlocking the car doors. They both swung open their doors, the one on Jimin's side hit Tae in the face. He stood, dazed, for a moment before running off in the direction of his lover.
"I'll take back what is mine, Y/n! Not before I give that friend of yours a nice hole in his head."
He yelled out. The two boys continued to run, stopping for nothing.

A shot rang out and Jimin fell to the floor. Y/n came to a halt.
"Keep running! Go get help!"
Jimin exclaimed while clutching his leg. Though he wanted to run or even help Jimin to his feet, his legs stayed firmly in place as his eyes widen in horror. Tae put the gun to Jimin's head and fired.
"NO!"
A gut wrenching cry left Y/n's lips as he collapsed to the floor. His legs were weak from running and he couldn't bring himself to move.

A hand gently caressed his cheek, only to be a slapped away by the terrified boy. Taehyung didn't like that response and grabbed Y/n by the face forcefully.
"Aren't you happy now? We can be together without your awful friends getting in our way."
"Leave me alone! I don't want to be with you, you're psychotic!"
Tae's eyes grew dark as his ex lover tried to back away.
"You don't get to leave me. We're gonna spend the rest of our lives together."
Tae pulled Y/n close and began to suffocate him. He didn't want to kill the boy, he just wanted him to fall unconscious so he could take him home without any struggling.

Y/n woke up in a large, colourful room. He was in a king sized bed and dressed in only an oversized shirt that fell below his knees. Sitting up, he noticed that the room was full of different paintings. The walls were lined with colourful, vibrant acrylic paintings of himself and Taehyung. As he left the room, he noticed more and more paintings along the walls of the hallway. As he passed each one, the decor started to get darker. Paintings that were once of him and his ex lover holding hands became the two of them in bed together doing disturbing acts. It kept escalating until he got to the end of the hallway. To his left was a door and below him was a hatch. If he knew whether he was on the ground floor, deciding between the two would've been easy. That door could lead him to the exit or it could be to more rooms. That hatch could take him to the first floor or the basement.

His hand hovered over the handle of the door to his left.
"If I'm not on the ground floor, there might at least be a window for me to jump out of."
He reasoned with himself before slowly opening the door. Walking in cautiously, he stepped forward into what seemed to be another bedroom. The door slammed behind him and he turned to see his captor.
"Now now, Y/n. Did you not like your room?"
He spoke in an almost taunting tone.
"I painted all of those canvases just for you my love."
Y/n was pulled closer to Taehyung.
"Can't you see how much I love you? We can be together for the rest of our lives here! Isn't that great love?"
Knowing that, for the time being, there was no escape, he collapsed into Taehyung's arms. He had lost everything and everyone. All he had was Tae and that was just how the serial killer wanted things to be.
