To say I was a bad cook would be an understatement. I was known as the worst cook in my group. I was always teased about the time I nearly burnt our dorm down. That, however, was about to change. I had been dating Jin for over a year now and he had always offered to teach me how to cook but we never had the free time to do it. When we both finally had a week off at the same time so we decided it was time.
"Have you washed your hands?"
"Yes."
"Got all the ingredients ready?"
"Yes."
"What about-"
I cut him off.
"Yes! I've got everything Jin."
He smiled at my eagerness.
"So I know that technically, you bake cookies but I thought it would be a good place to start."
I nodded as he began to tell me how to make the cookie dough.
"We've already preheated the oven so now we can get to making the dough. Grab the butter and the brown and white sugars and put them in the mixing bowl. Then you need to mix them."This went on for a while, Jin telling me what to do while I followed his instructions, trying my best to do everything accurately. Once we had put the cookies into the oven, we waited for them to cook. We took them out of the oven once they were cooked and I smiled as I noticed that they didn't look burnt or weird.
"They look good but the question is, do they taste good."
Jin said to me as we were waiting for them to cool down. Once they had cooled, we both picked one up and took a bite.
"Wow..."
"That's..."
"Amazing!"
We both said at the same time. I was shocked at how well they turned out. I was expecting them to be mediocre at best but these cookies were something else.
"I can't believe these cookies were actually made by you! I mean you nearly burnt the house down making toast but somehow you baked the best cookies I've ever had!"
Jin hugged me.
"I know right! We need to share these cookies with the others when they get back. They'll regret ever calling me bad at cooking!"
I spoke with excitement in my voice. The others returned a few hours later and when they had some of the cookies, they were in shock.
"Did you really make these or is this some elaborate plan to get us to let you use the oven again so you can burn down the dorm?"
Dae-hyun, the leader of my group, said, slightly suspicious of me.
"Yeah, these taste way too good to be cooked by you."
Namjoon said, his mouth still full.
"I'm telling you guys, I made these. I know, I know. These cookies taste amazing but somehow, I managed to pull it off. I should just quit being an idol and pursue a career in baking."
"Now now Y/n, lets not get too far ahead of ourselves here."
Jin chuckled at my crazy idea.
