I forgot to mention this but Coloured is an official race in South Africa, they are generally described as people who are a mix between black and white but I personally believe they are a race of their own. There have been protests (for almost a year or more) to have the term coloured removed and have the term Khoisan replace it, and to also have the Khoisan language officiated AND to have the Khoisan be given land so they can preserve the culture because they are known as the first settlers of South Africa. Just an interesting fact. If you are wondering about my stance, I believe in sovereignty if that is how they feel then so be it, one can not dictate another's culture and tradition.
CONGRATULATIONS TO MISS SOUTH AFRICA 2019 AND NOW MISS UNIVERSE, ZOZIBINI TUNZI. A WELL DESERVING ELOQUENT YOUNG WOMAN.

___________________________"I'm going to reject the position," Dian said sternly.
I resisted the urge to smack him over the head and opted to roll my eyes instead, "why would you do something like that?"
"For starters, I don't want the position and I also don't deserve it. I'll talk to the Headmaster and tell him to give it to someone more deserving." It felt like he was talking to himself his eyes were gazing over the people moving about in the school. I wasn't sure if he was talking down on himself like he seriously believed he didn't deserve this achievement because there are better people for this position because he only got it out of pity or he just felt as if he wasn't good enough for this position.
I took his hand into mine and squeezed it, "I wanted a Head position, you didn't want a Head position. I didn't get a Head position, you got a Head position those are the facts we are facing right now and we can't change anything without causing too much drama which at this point in my life I don't need. Dian, you have so much potential to bring about change, the ideas I had, I am giving to you, to make this place better for each and every one of us who have been undermined by the authority for so long. Give the LGBTQ+ kids a club or group so kids like Johan have a free space where they can learn more about what it means to be in that community, have book clubs for the bookworms and have the culture exchange club I have always dreamed about or the poetry slams too. Give us a chance to be more than students, give us the chance to be friends and families. You don't understand the magnitude of a gathering, just putting two people who have never met before in a room could change their lives." He seemed to have been listening intensely to what I was saying. These projects meant so much to me that is why I was so heartbroken when I didn't get a Head position.
"I have the power to change something here." He said after a moment of thinking. He rubbed his other hand across his face and groaned, "it all just seems so frightening."
