Chapter 30

Dian

"Come on boys one more lap around the field and then go to the locker room, we need to talk!" Coach yelled over the panting, stumbling boys who I was running ahead of, I wanted to finish this lap quickly because I wanted to help Naledi with her punishment and then we would go talk to my mother, that is one conversation I am not looking forward too.

She was sitting on the pavilion with one leg crossed over the other while her eyes followed me around the field, the boys were so exhausted they stopped paying attention to her and just kept stumbling around like elephants. That's also one of the reasons I was running ahead, I was showing off.

Pete was supposed to be leading the run as team captain but he is eating my dust, trailing behind me. I could hear him panting over my overworking heart, usually, I would have ran beside him but I wanted to be out of the chilly wind and help out my girl.
We aren't official as of yet but I'm working hard at winning her back, no more excuses this time around I want her as my girlfriend, not just some girl I have strong feelings for and occasionally kiss.

Once I had made it to the end of the lap, the coach threw me a water bottle and I caught it effortlessly.
"Good job out there, Dian." He praised while patting my sweaty back, I gulped down half the bottle before nodding.

I made my way into the spotless high-end locker room and changed out of my tights and shorts into a tank top and sweat pants, I would take a shower at home I just really want to get out now.

The boys tumbled into the locker room leaning on one another groaning and complaining about how Coach is killing them.

"Dian, broer, you've got to tell us how you do it... I can barely feel my legs and you look like you just took a single lap and not twenty." One of the guys complained, he had sweat pouring from his pores and his face looked red as if he was about to pass out.

When the whole team finally made it back, the room smelled sickening some of the guys looked a bit green and the ungodly musky smell permeated the room.

"Okay! Took you long enough to finish those laps but I'm glad none of you died out there. For the June holiday tour, we are going to Mauritius for a week, so I need you to have your parents fill out these forms, everyone has to attend or you might see your position being filled by a junior next term." Coach said passing along a few stacks of papers, some of the guys had huge grins on their faces and the locker room buzzed with excitement.

I had completely forgotten about the tour, this just derailed my plans. Plans to spend my holidays with Naledi and work my way into her good graces.
