I woke up at four o'clock in the morning for the first time in my entire life when the sun kissed my pale skinned body. The sun was like an orange and I felt like hugging it as we never had a sunny day like this at our previous place. The fresh air and the birds that sing songs near my window cheered me up while boosting my energy like an energy drink and made my day start with happy memories unlike when I used to stay in Hazelmoor.

I'm surprised not to hear at least one rude comment from Greg in the morning. He is always famous for saying mean stuff and always fighting with me verbally, and my mother always has to intervene and takes Greg's side all the time. I'm just wondering whether she forgot that I'm her biological child from the way she treats me at sometimes.

“Greg dear, why don't you drop Cassidy to school today? She doesn't know where it is located and all,” said Sophie, Cassidy's mother.

“I was planning to drop her everyday to school. It's the best way nowadays. She can't go alone by herself everyday back and forth,” replied Greg.

“Sure honey, she can walk alone from today onwards like she used to do in Hazelmoor. She is not a baby anymore,” said Sophie, and looks at Cassidy, who pretended that she is not listening to the conversation at all.

Cassidy hated the fact that her mother and Greg always talks about her when she is around pretending that she is deaf and can't hear a single word they speak about her. But she was surprised for the fact that Greg offered her to go every day with him in his car because they hated each other so much that Greg can't even stand her for one minute even if she sits in the back seat of the car when her mother is not around.

“Alright, if you insist that she can come alone home and go here everyday, I'm glad that I don't have to take her to school as it's out of my way,” replied Greg and got up from the dining table. “Have to start honey. Don't want to be late in the first day,” said Greg and kissed Sophie's temple.

Greg said the shortest way to school is through the woods. The road is full with dust all the time though. But there were wild rabbits and birds who chirp nice songs. I'm so glad that I have to go through it every day when I go to school.

The Dartmoor High School is an average size school with horrible looking students scattered everywhere before the school starts. I said thanks to Greg as he is always a person who wants manners first type. I looked around to see unfriendly people all over the place.

I slowly took my pace while I get used to the surrounding environment as I'm new to this whole area. People were giving weird looks and I felt like I have entered a lunatic asylum after observing people all around me. There seems to be no one appointed to welcome me and give a tour around the school, which means that I have to figure out all the places in the school.

I walked through the area which looked like a place for resting or so as there were benches and tables all around in a grassland type area. Around one table was a group which looked like farmers' sons and daughters from the way they have dressed up. And in another is all cowboys type people. And so on if you observe all the tables. Fortunately or unfortunately there were a few tables with normal, ok type people. But who knows about their attitudes.

I decided to take a trip alone the school, but first I wanted to discover where my locker is so that I can put all my stuff and take only the necessary things with me just in case I find my class. I so don't want to be late to my first class and make a bad impression on the first day of school. I'm sure Greg would always go early if he is in the situation I am. But who cares about Greg. I can do it all alone without anyone's help.

I walked in the school door and turned to left and right few times and then I came across the locker area. There is a pink and a blue locker. Yew. I feel like I'm going to vomit. It's disgusting. Not the type of colours I like. Why do only two lockers have two different colours, while other lockers are grey in colour? Why only two people are treated like special students in this school? That's not fair. That's racism. A school should not specialise in this field and act according to. This school is so weird.

I stared for a few minutes at those two lockers and then started to wrack inside my school bag fishing my locker key as it is with the locker number. Locker 107! That's my new locker. I started to search for it from top to bottom as the lockers are not sorted out according to the numbers. It's just labelled in a random manner.

“Guys look, a new kid! Looks like a potato hair has come to school. Is there a table for potatoes to stay?” Cassidy heard a guy speaking about her in a very rude, sarcastic tone. She definitely knew that she is going to hate this guy forever.

"Is this the sort of welcoming for the new kids in this school? I guess then my previous school was much better than this. We at least welcomed them warmly in the first day at least," thought Cassidy.

The school bell rang, interrupting everyone's doings and everyone departed to their class. Cassidy fortunately got in class on time as the French class was situated in the ground floor and first turn to the left. She just entered in the class and most extraordinary things started to happen.
