"Congrats!" screamed Luke in Cassidy's ears while hugging her tightly which was more like strangling her after she came to the area Luke was standing.

"Thanks. But who voted me for Prom Queen?" asked Cassidy still unable to believe that she was crowned.

"I voted for you and I'm pretty sure that other guys and girls must have voted for you as well. Besides, no one would want Rosie to be the Prom queen anyway." replied Luke holding her hand tightly.

"But don't you think Rosie deserves the crown? I mean it's so obvious that it's a mistake." replied Cassidy taking the tiara off her head and gazing at it.

"Well, if you didn't come then definitely it goes to Rosie. But I think you deserve it more than anyone in this hall." responded Luke after sighing.

"But she is more of that kind material. Don't you think?" asked Cassidy still not accepting the fact that she was crowned as the Prom Queen.

"Maybe you are right here. She has a horrible mouth. She is filled with jealousy. She could be called a bitch as well. You know, that bad." answered Luke back.

"Did you just called her a BITCH?" asked Cassidy with her eyes wide.

"I'm sorry, but that is the truth." replied Luke feeling a bit guilty for mentioning that word.

"I guess I forgot to mention it in the very beginning." said Cassidy, finally looking up.

"Mention about what?" asked Luke out of curiosity.

"You know, scurrilous language. I hate to hear people talking bad words. It makes me go crazy." replied Cassidy.

"Wow! So another difference between you and Rosie. Wonder what else we can find out." replied Luke.

"A difference between me and Rosie?" repeated Cassidy, the line Luke said as if she wanted to verify what she heard was correct.

"Yeah. It's a point which adds more points to you. You know, a reason for you to be nominated as the Prom Queen and being selected for it." replied Luke and smirked at her.

"Can I ask you a question?" questioned Cassidy from Luke.

"Sure. What is it?" asked Luke after hesitating for a second or two.

"Promise me that you will tell me the truth." said Cassidy.

"Ok. I can promise you that. What do you want to know?" asked Luke curiously.

"Why did you ask out Rosie to the prom if you hate her so much?" enquired Cassidy inquisitively.

"Um well, yeah... About that thing." was the only words that slipped out of Luke's mouth.

After a few minutes of silence Cassidy figured out that she won't be able to get the answer from Luke. So she decided to use a different approach to feed her hunger filled with curiosity for the actions.

"So, you were forced to be her partner weren't you?" said Cassidy while looking at the crowd of people dancing.

"Well, you are not going to drop the subject aren't you?" was the response Luke gave to her.

"Not until you give me the answers." replied Cassidy with a concerned look in her face.

"Well, I would love to give the answers." replied Luke and sighed while staring at the ground.

"So, why can't you tell me?" asked Cassidy with pleading voice which was like a dagger sent to Luke's heart.

For the first time in his life he felt like a fragile glass which from even a hit with a finger could break and shatter into pieces. He never thought that anyone could bring him into this status.

"Cass, you have to understand. There are some details I have been forbidden to tell you. You know that I would tell you anything if I can." replied Luke looking a bit guilty.

Cassidy realised that it has something to do with Gerald. After all, according to her knowledge only Gerald scares Luke. She wished that there was some way that she could find out what all of this is about.

Luke observed Cassidy's change of facial expressions. He felt guilty, but he knew that he has no choice but to keep his mouth shut. After all, there is a saying that wall also has ears.

"Shall we dance?" asked Luke interrupting Cassidy's line of thoughts.

"Sure. But why?" asked Cassidy concerned.

"Since both our dates have ditched us there is no one we can dance with." replied Luke while pulling Cassidy into the dance floor.

"You know I always hated dancing." whispered Cassidy while dancing.

"Same here, but Prom is dancing. Better enjoy ourselves while we can." replied Luke.

Cassidy and Luke danced to a few songs while talking about all sorts of things that popped into their head.

"Hey! I thought you have ditched me." said a voice interrupting their dance.

"Oh, hi Gerald! I didn't expect you'd be here. I thought you have left me behind." replied Cassidy while she was still keeping her hand around Luke just the way they were placed when they were dancing.

"How can I just leave you here and go darling? Would you like to dance with me or shall we go somewhere calm and quiet to talk?" asked Gerald.

"If you don't mind, I prefer talking than dancing." replied Cassidy smiling at him.

"How about just one dance?" asked Gerald with a twisted smile on his face.

"All right, all right. If you say so." replied Cassidy and took hold of Gerald's offered hand.

After a few minutes of silence Gerald started to converse with Cassidy which sounded a bit forceful.

"You look beautiful today." said Gerald gazing into Cassidy's eyes.

"Why? Do I look ugly on other days?" asked Cassidy rhetorically.

"Did I tell you that? Of course you look pretty on other days as well.Today you look extra pretty." replied Gerald.

"Okay." said Cassidy and tried to concentrate on the dancing.

"So, you enjoyed yourself tonight? I saw you talking to Luke all the time. You find him special?" asked Gerald sounding a bit casual.

"Well, you weren't there anyway for me to talk." replied Cassidy.

"So, you would have spent the time talking with me if I was there?" questioned Gerald.

"Well, I would have if I want to." replied Cassidy.

"So that means you would like to cuddle with me in a corner and talk to me?" asked Gerald leaning forward and whispering into Cassidy's ears.

"I said I might." replied Cassidy back.

Cassidy felt Gerald's hands caressing her back. She never thought that Gerald is so gentle at all.

"DO you like to go and talk with me?" asked Gerald, sliding his hands the part below the back.

Cassidy quickly grabbed hold of Gerald's hand and placed it back on her waist.

"Okay. I prefer talking than dancing." replied Cassidy quickly.

"Okay. Then let's go." said Gerald, and guided Cassidy out the hall. "Stay right here. I'll bring my car."
