“Ca... Cassidy.” said the guy trembling.

“What the hell are you doing Guy?” asked Cassidy crossing her hands across her chest.

“I... I was just...” said guy, unable to think what to say.

“Better wipe your cheek.” said Cassidy, showing through actions as well.

Guy wiped his cheek. “I'm sorry.” said Guy, looking embarrassed.

“What are you?” asked Cassidy still keeping her arms crossed across her chest.

“I'm... I'm a vampire.” said Guy and quickly grab hold of her hands.

“What? You are not human?” said Cassidy full of shock.

“I'm really sorry. I probably should have told you earlier. But I didn't want to lose you. Please understand me correctly! FRIENDS?” asked Guy.

“Of course we are. Who knows about this?” asked Cassidy.

“Only you and Luke from the whole school. Please don't tell anyone.” said Guy begging her.

“It's no problem. So what happens to your date?” asked Cassidy casually without thinking much.

“You can be my date!” said Guy happily and gave a bear hug suddenly.

“Umm... Guy?” said Cassidy shocked at Guy's sudden action.

“Yes. What's wrong?” asked Guy after noticing Cassidy's facial expressions.

“I already said 'yes' to Gerald.” said Cassidy while tucking her hair behind her ear.

“Why Gerald from everyone out of the whole school? You seriously shouldn't go out with him.” said Guy.

“I already said yes.” said Cassidy unable to understand the grudge going on between Guy and Gerald.

“Do whatever you want to. But don't tell Luke or me when you are in trouble.” said Guy and walked away, leaving Cassidy alone in the middle of the forest.

Cassidy watched Guy leave the forest unable to decide what to do. She didn't want to lose Guy as a friend.

Cassidy left from the forest and went home with a long face.

“Where did you go?” asked Greg looking at Cassidy with his hands cross across his chest.

“I went to work on an assessment.” replied Cassidy and straight away walked into the kitchen leaving her bag near the door.

“Hi Honey! I heard Prom is coming up.” said Cassidy's mother who was preparing dinner.

“Yeah. Two more weeks to go.” said Cassidy and started to eat a cucumber piece.

“Why don't you go and buy a nice dress. You know, normally girls are ready to go to prom by now.” replied her mother while cutting carrots.

“Okay, mom. I will go in the evening.” said Cassidy.

“Great! Why don't you go to the mall with Greg today?” asked Cassidy's mother.

What a disaster to go to a mall with Greg! He doesn't even have a good taste. Great, thanks mum. I'm going to be prisoned by him. Thought Cassidy while going to the mall with Greg.

“So, we need to buy some jewellery and a dress then.” said Greg tapping on his wallet.

“Oh! I don't need jewellery.” replied Cassidy after noticing Greg's behaviour.

“It's for your mother, anyway. I just want you to select.” replied Greg.

Greg and Cassidy entered to a jewellery shop and started to examine the jewellery pieces.

“Can we buy a whole set? Or is it just pieces?” asked Cassidy scarred that he might scold her.

“You get to choose. We'll see when it comes to the price.” replied Greg.

Why is he so nice today? Did he hit his head on something? Or did he get up from the wrong side of the bed? Thought Cassidy.

“What do you think about this purple colour set?” asked Greg, pointing at a jewellery set.

“I... I prefer that pink one.” said Cassidy, pointing at another piece while trembling with fear.

Greg walked close to the jewellery piece and examined the piece.

“It's just amazing. I guess I can afford it.” said Greg, looking at Cassidy and smiled at her.

Greg signalled at a salesman and did the necessary transactions to purchase the jewellery set.

“Let's go to that shop.” said Greg, pointing at a store after coming out of the jewellery store.

“But clothes there are expensive.” said Cassidy after reading the name of the shop. It was a very famous shop like Adidas nowadays. Cassidy hesitated to go to the shop.

“Who cares about all that? Prom is a day to remember.” said Greg and walked into the shop.

“That pink dress looks gorgeous. Why don't you try it on.” said Greg after examining all the dresses.

Cassidy looked at the dress and decided to put it on just to satisfy Greg. After all, he is nice to her for the first time.

Cassidy came out after putting it on to show Greg how she looks like in it.

“Oh my God, yes. You look like a princess.” said Greg in a surprised and happy tone. “We will buy this dress.” said Greg to the sales lady even without looking at the price of the dress.

Cassidy went back to change it off and put back her comfortable clothes on.

“Let's go and buy some matching shoes. I guess you totally forgot about that.” said Greg and smiled at her.

Wow! This man has his sense buds working on. I have to admit I was wrong about him. Can’t believe that he is spending so much money on me.

“Shall we buy this heel or do you want one with a cover?” asked Greg while examining a heeled shoe by taking it into his hand.

“That one looks good.” replied Cassidy looking at the heel shoe Greg was holding.

After shopping was done Greg and Cassidy got into their vehicle and left the mall to go back home.

“So, who are you going with?” asked Greg on their way back home.

“With Gerald.” replied Cassidy.

“You mean Gerald Gambles? The one who is voted to be the Prom King?” asked Greg, looking at Cassidy.

“Yeah! Why?” asked Cassidy surprised.

“Don't associate with him. Don't even talk to him.” said Greg, looking at the road ahead.

“Why not?” asked Cassidy curiously. And surprised at the sudden breakdown.

“Don't ask me why. Just don't associate with him. Don't come to us when you fall into trouble.” said Greg in an angry tone.

Why is Greg against Gerald? He had never even met him before! Maybe he knows Gerald's parents. They might even be enemies. But Gerald looks like a really nice guy. He had been so nice and kind to me. He is so sweet. Thought Cassidy and shrugged her shoulders.

The rest of the trip both Greg and Cassidy maintained the silence without making a single noise. Only the sound of breathing could be heard.
