Chapter 10

Cassidy went to the library wondering what is going to happen next in her life. She was glad that she has made friends with people in the first day itself. But who knows what is happening now or what is going to happen?

Cassidy entered the library and went to the section where all the English Literature textbooks for reference and novels and other works are kept. Still holding her books, she scanned the bookshelf.

“Looking for something?” Cassidy heard a familiar voice asking from her.

Cassidy turned around to see who it is. “Oh, hi Guy! I didn't see you coming in. What are you doing here so early?” asked Cassidy still going through the books.

“Are you by any chance searching for this book? I already took out the books related to Sense and sensibility. Come in and help me out.” said Guy and again said in a low voice, “if you want to, of course.”

Guy walked back to a table where some books were spread out wide open. Cassidy followed him and took the seat opposite to Guy's seat.

“So, here is the points I came up with last night about the characters. See whether they are similar to your points.” said Cassidy and opened her notebook and gave it to Guy.

Guy pored his head into Cassidy's notebook and went through the points Cassidy has written in her notebook about the characters in the first chapter of Sense and Sensibility. While he was reading, Cassidy tapped on his hand.

“What? I'm still reading the points.” said Guy in an annoying voice.

“Can I go through the points you have found? It saves time, you know.” said Cassidy gesturing using her hands.

“Oh, yeah! Sorry about that. I thought I already gave you my notebook.” said Guy and pulled out his notebook which was stuck among other literature books he has opened up. “Here you go. Starting from here, Cass.”

Cassidy went through the points Guy has written, reading each point more than once to make sure she absorbs them and understand them correctly.

Wow, this guy is so good at literature. How come a guy be good in literature? Looks like he is the son of William Shakespeare. Or maybe he must be even better than William Shakespeare and all other renounced authors in this world.

Cassidy continued to read the points Guy has written and found out that he has not organized the points by the character separately.

Cassidy felt a hand being laid on her shoulder. As a reflex reaction, she turned around and recognized who it is.

“Oh, hi Gerald! Good morning. Didn't expect you here early in the morning?” said Cassidy.

Guy looked from Cassidy's notebook when he heard Cassidy speaking. Guy was furious to see that it was Gerald she was speaking to.

“Why? Didn't you get my message?” asked Gerald crossing his hands across his chest.

“What are you talking about? What message?” asked Cassidy curiously.

“Oh! I just wanted to meet you to tell something important. I dropped a letter asking you to meet me at the library today in the morning.” replied Gerald suspiciously.

So you think you can break into Cassidy's locker, did you? I'll tell her about you. Game on from now onwards. Thought Gerald.

“Oh, that letter. Yes, I got it. But I have some work to do right now. Maybe you can tell me later.” replied Cassidy.

“Well, it's something that can't wait. It's really important.” replied Gerald eager to get her to come with him.

“All right then. Why don't you tell me now?” asked Cassidy curiously.

“He's here.” said Gerald while pointing at Guy.

“So, what's wrong with him being here?” asked Cassidy curiously and suspiciously.

“It's kind of a private thing. Well. It's not exactly private, but I don't want anyone to know about this or even hear about it.” replied Gerald.

“Okay, just give me few minutes would you.” said Cassidy and gestured Gerald to go. “So shall we continue the rest of the assignment in the interval?” Cassidy asked from Guy.

“All right. I'll finish with this stuff. See you in the Bio class.” said Guy.

“Bio class?” asked Cassidy suspiciously.

Yeah, Bio class.” repeated Guy again.

“Wow! I didn't know that. See you there Guy.” replied Cassidy full with surprise and left to meet Gerald.
