A new day dawned and the birds chirp their good morning songs which Cassidy considered as her morning rise and shine alarm. She quickly got out of the bed, even though it's around four o'clock in the morning.
She had a bath and he went through her French assignment to check whether the answers are correctly written. Afterwards, she concentrated and read Sense and Sensibility novel again to see whether she can find more points or points which she has missed before. As she did go through the novel she found more points which she jotted down in the right side of the page.
Cassidy finally decided to go early to school even though normally the students go ten minutes or so before the school bell rings. She only wanted to go early so that she can arrange her locker in order and place which will be necessary and might be useful just in case something happens.
Cassidy packed her bags, putting all her textbooks of her six subjects inside and then stationary and other required items as Be Prepared measure. She then got dressed in her school uniform and went downstairs carrying her bag and placed it on the stool near the front door. Then she went to have her breakfast.
“Why rushing early today?” asked Cassidy's mother as Cassidy normally comes downstairs very late. And sometimes Sophie had to go and call her.
“I have to sort stuff out in the locker today. And also I have to figure around where the classes are located. It's a really complicated school, mum. They have so many classrooms.” replied Cassidy and started to eat her breakfast. After having her breakfast, Cassidy drank her fresh orange juice prepared by her mother. “Mum, I'm leaving now.”
“Leaving so early, today? Wow! Looks like you have lots of stuff to do.” said Cassidy's mother to Cassidy and turned around to face Greg. “Why don't you drop her to school today?”
“Why should I? I showed her the shortest way to school yesterday and anyway, it's out of my way.” replied Greg.
Yeah, mum. I can go alone. I'm big enough to walk alone to school.” replied Cassidy pulling one of her puppy dog faces with a pleading look.
“Just because you are in high school doesn't mean that you are big enough to go alone like that. You are not at all big enough to go like that...” trailed off Sophie as Greg interrupted.
“Cassidy's right, dear. She is old enough to walk alone to school. Just let her go. Besides, anyway, she walks back home from school even if I drop her. So why can't she walk to school as well?” said Greg.
Wow. This is the first time Greg has agreed with me. Of course, he just wants to get me off his sleeves. Wonder how much he hates me? Thought Cassidy and set off to go to school.
While Cassidy was walking to school, she drifted into her thoughts. Wonder what will happen in school today. Am I going to bump into another random guy or guys like yesterday? Hope I won't bump into Rosie. I don't like to even see the site of her. And Hope Guy would like my part of the assignment. He sounds like an English literature geek.
Cassidy's thoughts which flowed like a river in her mind was obstructed when she heard someone or something moving around trampling the dry leaves and stepping on a dry piece of stick which end up snapping into two pieces.
Cassidy stopped for a while and scanned around both sides of the road to see whether she can detect the cause of the disrupt. Cassidy observed for a few minutes and decided to leave when she felt that the place is safe with no one to harm her.
It took her twenty minutes to walk to school and she was surprised to see that it's not only her who comes early to school. She straight away headed towards her locker to start arranging it.
She opened her locker and just afterwards she started to take her books out of her bag and started to pile it. But before piling it in order she saw some papers in her locker.
Cassidy picked up the first paper which was lying and leaned against the next door locker and started to read it.
Cassidy smiled after reading the paper. Wow! He has the guts at least to drop a paper like that. In Hazelmoor we didn't have guys like that. Looks like Gerald is straightforward guy. Let's see what will happen in the library. Thought Cassidy and then she picked up the second piece of paper.
Cassidy quickly puts all her stuff in the locker and took her English Literature book along with the novel and the rest of the books for the first two classes just in case she won't have time to pick them up and marched straight away to the library.
