“What prom?” asked Cassidy confused as she have never heard about the prom since the time she join the school.

“Our Senior Year Prom. It's at the end of next month.” replied Gerald while grinning from ear to ear.

“So if it's next month why asking me to prom now itself?” asked Cassidy curious to find out the reason.

“So that I can go out with you before anyone else.” replied Gerald while smiling.

“I didn't get it.” said Cassidy so confused.

“Well, prom tickets and all will be out only at the middle of next month. But I want to make sure that you are going out with the right person.” replied Gerald in a convincing tone.

“Hold on... So, how do you so much about the prom plans? And I have never seen bad guys here still.” replied Cassidy.

Why does he always label Guy as a bad person? He's so nice and sweet. He's brilliant and good at literature just like me. I guess I have to dig deep and see what happened between Gerald and Guy to see why he hates Guy so much. Thought Cassidy.

“Well, I'm in the prom committee. So of course I know everything happening.” replied Gerald.

There was a short silence between them, which was quite uncomfortable for Cassidy. Cassidy stared at the ground while tapping the paper cup she is holding.

“You know what, I think you should do something to prove me that you deserve to have a date like me. You know, convince me that you are the type of GOOD guy I should go to the prom with.” said Cassidy explaining more using hand gestures.

“All right. If that's what you want, then that's what you get. But don't tell me that I didn't warn you against this.” replied Gerald.

“Okay. So what am I up to?” asked Cassidy after crossing her hands.

“Well, I guess you have to wait and see. After all, you asked for it. Didn't you?” asked Gerald rhetorically and gave a naughty smile at Cassidy.

“Okay then. I'll just wait and see. I hope you still remember that you have to prove that...” trailed off Cassidy as Gerald interrupted.

“I know. I know.” said Gerald in a rather annoyed type tone.

“Then, it's great!” exclaimed Cassidy happily and clasped her hands holding it at chest level.

Wow! Never thought I could make a person happy like this. Especially a girl. I guess she could make something important to my life. Start a new chapter in life according to Mr. Brown, our English Literature teacher. Thought Gerald.

Gerald quickly broke off from his wind of thoughts which came blowing across his mind. He saw Cassidy looking at the ground while tapping her empty paper cup just to past time when he passed off for a moment.

“Wanna grab another drink? You can have something to eat too.” said Gerald, and nearly grabbed hold of Cassidy's arm.

While Gerald re-filled his glass, Cassidy grabbed another paper cup and headed to the table with food.

Wow! Luke made pizzas too! Oh my god! He must be a really good cook. After all the food looks so mouth watery. Thought Cassidy while she filled the plastic plate with food.

“So, you like pizza?” asked a male voice startling Cassidy.

“Oh yeah! I do.” said Cassidy after turning around to see who is speaking to her.

“Come, let's go to my room.” replied the voice.

“Why should I come? I mean there should be a pretty good reason for me to abandon the party and head into your room.” replied Cassidy and took a sip from the juice.

“Well, we can straight away get into business then. Don't you think so?”

“All right Gerald. But I have to be at home by ten. Okay?” asked Cassidy with a concerned look on her face.

“Okay.” said Gerald, giving his approval to the condition stated indirectly. “After you pretty lady.” said Gerald pointing his hand to the staircase.

Cassidy and Gerald went upstairs while the rest of the crowd, including Rosie and Luke was downstairs. Gerald's room is near Luke's room but there is a room in between them.

“Here we are! Come, sit here.” said Gerald, and pulled a chair which is right in front of his computer table.

Cassidy went and seated herself. Then she looked around for a place to keep her cup and plate.

“Sorry about the mess. I did a bit of study and I did not have time to put the books back.” said Gerald while collecting the books and papers which was scattered on the table.

“Oh! It's okay.” said Cassidy, watching him collect all the papers. After all the books and papers were removed from the table Cassidy kept her plate and cup. “Thank you.”

“No problem.” said Gerald while stacking them back in the bookshelf.

“So, why did you ask me to come?” asked Cassidy hitting the nail on the head straight away.

“I wanted to show you something.” said Gerald.

Gerald took a CD out of the drawer and inserted it. Then a video clip played.

You're my lucky shinning star,

Bring me happiness,

Don't ever get far.

Seriously? Is he out of his mind? Why is he confessing that he loves me and cherish me? And that photo! How did he get a picture of mine? He clearly is deep in love with me. Thought Cassidy.

“Wow, this is so cool. More like Luke's kind of thing.” said Cassidy at the end.

“I made it. So, what do you say? Are you gonna be my date?” asked Gerald.

“All right. Tomorrow, meet me at the shopping mall.” replied Cassidy.
