26: Invisible

Chapter 26

 

Aiken and I talked yesterday and cleared some things. I know that things will change but that's the only constant thing in this world, right? Change?

Anyway, we're okay now. Everything's back to normal. Nagmi-meet na ulit yung mga teachers. Reaction papers, projects, output and homeworks are back. Hitler teachers are back. Mas marami ng projects kaming mga senior ngayon dahil ilang buwan na lang, ga-graduate na kami. That's why teachers love to torture us.

"Sukli niyo, ma'am."

"Thanks," I mutterred as I collected my change and started to walk. I took a sip of my milkshake before pulling out my phone para magcheck ng messages. Pero hindi pa rin nagre-reply yung taong gusto kong magreply.

3 weeks. Tatlong linggo na since I last saw Trent. I tried to contact him since Monday pero di nagre-reply. I am worried, yeah. Siya kasi yung laging mangungulit tuwing umaga, mag-gGM ng walang kwenta, ask random question and the like. Hindi nga siya nag-greet sa akin nung Christmas and New Year, ni post sa Facebook or tweet wala. I wonder what happened to that guy. Oh well, makikita ko naman ang lalaking yun mamaya.

Habang papalabas ng cafeteria, I spotted a familiar guy. I squinted my eyes to make sure siya nga yun. Ugh, naiwan ko pa talaga ang glasses ko sa locker kanina. Bulag pa naman ako pag wala yun.

"Trent!" I called. May mga tumingin sa direksyon ko pero nagpatuloy naman agad sa ginagawa nila. I called his name once again pero di lumingon.

The guy started to walk towards Xavier Hall. Baka naman di si Trent yun? But no. I know it's Trent. I know that guy too well and I know siya yun.

I shrugged. Baka naman di ka narinig, Zoe? Uh-huh. Baka nga.

Great. Now I'm talking to myself. Fantastic.

He's ignoring me. I know he really is ignoring me.

Kanina, akala ko di niya lang ako narinig pero when I saw him in the hallway bandang 10 (with my glasses on), I tried to call him but before I can utter a word, he was already walking towards the opposite direction. Di lang yan. I called Geera at lunch, asking her where is she. I heard Trent's voice in the backgound so I asked if he's with her. I heard him said something tapos Geera told me: "Sabi niya, di daw namin siya kasama."

See? I'm smart enough to know that he's ignoring me. Ang di ko lang maintindihan, why? Why is he ignoring me? I didn't do something wrong... right?

So, here I am, naglalakad papuntang lab with Aiken by my side. He insisted on accompanying me papunta sa class ko para magcatch up. He's asking me about David and for the umpteenth time, sinabi ko yung storya. Really, dapat isulat ko na lang then post it in the bulletin board para di na ako kulitin ng student body. Who would've thought ganun kasikat yung Hendrid na yun.

"Dito na tayo. Say hi to your friends for me," he said, holding the strap of his bag.
