No Going Back

"It's nice to see you again." My dad while said pulling his sister, Aunt Cassie, into a hug. Xavier came and sat by me after patting my dad on the shoulder.

"This is Issac." I introduced placing a hand on Issac's back. "And this is his older brother Luke." Luke only smiled and gave them a nod.

"They're currently staying with us - " My dad started to explain but Luke abruptly cut him off.

"For awhile that is, until I make enough money to find Issac and I an apartment." I frowned confused, when did they talk about this?

"Nonsense, Luke I told-" Luke cut my father off once more. "I know what you told me and if you don't mind I'd like to be excused."

He abruptly got up and left, the sound of the front door closing echoed through the house. "Luke." I got up to go after him along with Issac but my dad stopped us.

Issac shrugged his hand off, "I'm sorry but Luke's right. If anything we shouldn't have been at this dinner."

His words hit me right in the heart. Did he really believe he wasn't practically family already?

"We're not family, I mean we may already be apart of it but we're not family by blood." And with that Issac took off.

It was now awkward. "I don't know what that was about but I'm going after them." My dad nodded sitting down with Xavier and Cassie.

Knowing them both, Luke probably went to the park. "Issac!" I called out causing him to stop and turn to me.

It was, pouring rain and I tried to ignore the fact that my mothers letter was probably going to get ruined. Continuing to walk, I saw a figure up ahead making me sigh in relief.

"Issac go back and tell my dad that I'm talking to Luke. Okay?" He nodded before running back towards the house.

I picked up my pace, to catch up to who I believed to be Luke. "Luke!" He stopped, only it wasn't Luke.

Before I knew it, there was a gun in my face.

Wait what?

I froze staring at the gun in front of me in fear. "Come quietly and there will be no problems."

And well me being me, I tried to kick the gun out of the mans hand to which I succeed but I didn't make it very far when I began to run the opposite direction. Because the next thing I knew, out of nowhere there was a loud scream.

Only I was the one screaming.

In my shoulder was, what looking to be a Chinese Ring Dagger, I cried out in pain as I pulled it out dropping it to the ground.

"So we've got a complicated one." A new voice complained tiredly. "Well we only have to keep her for a short while." The man scoffed.

"Yeah right." He then pointed at me. "This one we have to keep for a year or longer! Depending on the cause."

I was slowly backing away but stopped upon hearing that. What? Who were these people?

"Daniel it's good money." So the guys name was Daniel, okay keeping note of that when I get the hell out of here.

"Uhh not break up the argument but what the fuck is going on?!" I shouted making their heads turn to me.

Before either of them could say anything, there was a pain in my neck before my whole word went black.

Groggily I woke up, and immediately the events that happened flashed through my head.

I was in a dim lite room, I was on an old bed that looked pretty over used. "Gross."

I patted myself down and sighed in relief when I felt my phone in my bra and my mothers letter still in my pocket.

"You're awake." The guy who's voice I recognized to be Daniel's spoke up as he entered the room.

I sat up, hissing when I moved my shoulder. "What the fuck is going on? Who are you people? What the fuck do you want with me?"

Before he could answer me, the other guy came in. "So she's awake now."

Daniel nodded, and sat on one of the chairs I never noticed were in here. "Did you tell her yet?"

"Tell me what?" I interrupted while standing to my feet that felt like jello.

They shared a look before the guy whose name I didn't know came towards me. "Why you're here, of course."

I was suddenly more curious wanting to know the answer to that. "Tell me." I urged and he looked back to Daniel who exited the room.

"Take a seat Valerie." I did as he said confused as he knew my name. "How do you know my name?"

He shook my head, "That's not important right now, what's important is that you don't interrupt me and you don't try anything."

He looked at me waiting for me to say something. "Got it?" He asked sternly and I nodded.

He then walked over to the door where Daniel then walked in with a folder in his hand. I took note of how, Daniel's eyes seemed to soften at the man and how the man placed a hand on Daniel's shoulder comfortingly.

My eyes widened in realization, they were together.

I mean unless they're just flirting but there was no other reason I could think of besides that they were together.

"Wow." I whispered causing them to look at me. "I never noticed until now."

I paused before meeting their curious gaze, "You guys are together."

Their eyes widened in surprise, and in an instant they left the room finally leaving me to think.

Honestly what in the hell is going on?

Why was I kidnapped?

Was I going to be sold to someone who lived across the world?

A million questions ran through my mind but none seemed realistic for me to believe that it could actually happen to me.

One thing was for sure though.

Something did happen tonight.
