I can hear everything perfectly but it all sounds so distant. I was slowly slipping into nothing but darkness.

Was this where it ends?

Please tell me it is because I can't do this anymore.

"Come in, I was about to pull out the chicken and serve." Everyone came in and I was a little shocked to see that we could all fit on the table.

I walked into the kitchen ignoring the feeling of someone behind me as I pulled out the chicken and set it onto the counter.

I checked it once more and confirmed that it was cooked completely as I turned around I gasped as my face was an inch away from Elijah's.

If I moved forward we'd be in a face battle. "Uh, hi." I squeaked making him chuckle.

"You said, you love me." I saw hope flash across his eye and something else but before I could even answer, my dad walked in.

"Need hel- oh. Uh never mind." He sent me a playful wink and walked out. "Let's get the food." Elijah nodded obviously disappointed I didn't say anything.

We took out two plates at a time and soon enough everyone was eating. By everyone I mean just Nathan, Veronica, Reina, Xavier, Issac, and Elijah plus my dad and I.

"So how did you take the news dad?" Reina asked after several minutes of silence making me choke.

No!

He didn't know, I didn't want him to know.

"That Valerie was pregnant? It's devastating to learn the news but she knows that I'm here for her always." I sent him a small smile as he looked at me.

Reina frowned, "No I was talking about her having short term amnesia." I tensed when I heard his utensil hit his plate.

"W-What?" I sighed, coming up with a lie. "Over the trip I tripped down some stairs, and hit my head pretty hard."

However my dad still panicked slightly. "Who's your doctor right now?" I could lie again, yeah let's lie.

"And don't you dare lie to me." I sighed well there goes that option. "Dr. Hamilton." Elijah told him and before I knew it my dad was up and on the phone.

I need to get out of here now!

Before he tells them.

I got up and ran out, I made it into my car and locked myself in. Was this always going to be my first choice?

Running away instead of facing things head on? Was I really back to being so weak?

"Valerie? What's wrong? Please open the door." All the doors were locked as I pulled my knees up to my chest.

My dad came out and said something that made Elijah and everyone else freeze.

I already knew my dad had asked about my memory and if anything Dr. Hamilton told him.

"You remember? You got your memory back after I yelled at you?" I was full on crying and Elijah looked broken.

It hurt to know that I did this, again. I can't do anything right, can I?

He walked away from the car and I pulled out of the drive way, he made no effort to follow me.

No one did.

As I was driving, I didn't even know where I was going. My vision was blurry and I knew I shouldn't be driving but I didn't care.

But I should've because before I knew it, all I heard was honking then nothing.
