The guys came back into the room and I let out a tired sigh. "So tell me why I'm here."

Daniel nodded and ushered the other man forward, okay I really need to learn his name.

"The person that we work for wants you gone, out of his way as he expands around the world but he can't do that with you knowing what you do." The man explained.

He looked to Daniel who nodded for him to continue. "We weren't hired to kidnap you Valerie. We were hired to kill you."

My eyes widened in fear, my heart dropping to my stomach. What?

Was I going to die here?

Oh god, please no.

I was about to speak but he stopped me. "Wait, before you freak out last minute he changed his mind. You see what Daniel and I do isn't something you can just apply for. We're hired hitmen, we take out a target when given to us and no questions asked. There are groups of people like us around the world and ours happens to be one of the many small ones."

I frowned confused as what that had to do with me. "Now Valerie, here's where we ask you a serious question. One that once you answer, there's no going back at all."

Daniel approached us, a look of complete seriousness on his face. "You see we either kill you or you join our group."

You know that feeling when it gets hard to breathe?

That's how I currently felt.

How was I supposed to chose? It should be easy but it's not.

"A reminder is that if you chose to come with us, you won't be able to have contact with your friends or family ever." Daniel said making the decision even harder.

I took a deep breathe before chosing the one thing I could.

"Okay, I'll go with you guys. I don't really have a choice seeing as if I don't I'll die and I can't die. I'm all my dad has, and he's all I have, and there are people ... people I hope to see again one day. So okay, I'll go with you."

Daniel nodded while the other guy looked lost in thought.

"Now I have a plan." I told them already hating it but I had no choice.

There was no going back.

I looked over the text message making sure that it sounded real.

Group Message;
Hey guys. Sorry for worrying you, I didn't mean to but what I'm about to tell you might worry you some more so I'm sorry. Right well, there's no easy way to say this so I'll just be blunt.
I'm leaving and I probably won't come back. I learned something while looking for Luke and I need to figure out who I really am because I don't know who I am anymore.
So this is goodbye, and don't look for me please? You won't find me.
I love you guys, never forget that.

Looking over the text once more I pressed send before handing Carter, whose name I just learned, my phone.

He crushed it, and then sat down in front of me. "So here's what's going to happen. We're going to sedate you, sorry it's the rules, and then you'll wake up where we're currently staying. But is this really what you want?"

I sighed looking down, "There's not going back Carter."

He nodded understandingly, "Now understand coming with us means you'll need to be willing to take a life. You can't hesitate in this kind of work, you'll get yourself killed if you do."

I nodded, understanding that I didn't really have a choice at the moment. I needed to learn how to be like them, to be one of them.

"We'll train you for three weeks before officially getting you to sign the contract stating you've joined us, in which your entire existence will be erased for the time being." Daniel told me and I made sure to keep notes on everything they told me.

"How many others are there? In your group I mean." I needed to know this, to prepare myself mentally when I have to meet them.

"There are ten others." Carter informs me making my eyes widen.

Ten other people have agreed to do this? We're they in the same situation as me, or?

I nodded taking in all the information given to me. So maybe it won't be so bad, "Genders?"

"Five boys and girls." So I'd be the odd man out then. "But there is another mission to get a new recruit, hopefully they'll cooperate."

"So for now there's more girls than guys?" Daniel nodded. "The highest number you could have in your group is 20 we're ten short but we convinced them to allow twelve members only."

I sighed starting to get a headache, I should've just asked questions later.

"Daniel I'm going to kill you." I growled placing a hand on my shoulder. "My shoulder is killing me."

He chuckled, giving me an apologetic smile. "Sorry. You'll be okay though."

Yeah sure.

"Now are you ready to go?" Carter asked standing up and walking to over to the table in the center of the room.

"Might as well just get it over with right?" I joked only earning a hum in response.

I gulped nervously as Carter approached me with a needle in hand, "This is going to hurt a bit."

I took a deep breath, hissing in pain as he stabbed the needle into my neck.

There was no going back.

I didn't even bother to think of the consequences to come.

But there was no going back.

It wasn't long after that my entire world went black once more.
