"So when did this happen?"
Currently, we were all sitting in our living room talking about ... well them.
Tatia smiled and took Luke's hand into her own. "Um about two years ago, I guess we just sort of clicked because after you and Reina left we bumped into one another and yeah."
I smiled happily at her, "Well I'm glad that you're happy. You deserve to be happy."
She thanked me shyly and that's when I decided to talk to her.
"Tatia, can we talk for a sec?" She nodded and I lead her into the the kitchen. She pulled herself onto the counter, next to the cutting board, letting her legs swing.
"I know what you've done Tatia." Her eyes widened in shock but she soon composed herself.
"What do you mean?" She asked innocently and I let out a tired sigh.
"Tatia, you tried looking for us didn't you?" She didn't answer me, instead she looked down and gave me a nod.
I leaned against the counter next to her, "And you found somethings that no one was supposed to see. Confidential things Tatia and now I'm going to have to ask you to get rid of those things."
"But why?" She asked now looking at me, "I could end them. Make sure that no one goes through what you guys did."
I shook my head, she didn't know we chose to become like them and she could never know. "Tatia you don't understand. Yes, Reina and I came home but the thing is we have our last mission tomorrow."
Her eyes widened, "Me?" Her voice was nothing but a whisper and I nodded leaning my head onto her arm.
"Tatia, if you refuse to get rid of everything you found and swear to never speak about it ..." I paused taking a deep breath. "We'll have no choice but to label you as a target."
"Valerie..." I stopped her before letting her speak. "Please, Tatia. I don't want to do this and neither would Reina. So please get rid of everything before tomorrow or else we'll have no choice."
She nodded and jumped down from the counter, I gave her a hug before we went back into the living room where Luke and Elijah were talking.
"Ready?" Luke asked and Tatia looked to me before nodding at him. I walked them to the door, Elijah right behind me. "See you tomorrow."
I watched as they left before rushing into the living room and picking up the brown envelope on the coffee table.
"Valerie what are you doing?" Elijah asked but I didn't give him an answer, instead I ripped open the envelope and pulled out the paper inside.
We weren't supposed to open it until tomorrow when everyone got here. Well everyone besides Nat because she got out.
That's another story though for another time.
Back to now, I knew better but I couldn't help myself. I wanted - no I needed to know that I was wrong about Tatia.
My heart literally sunk as I came to see that I was right.
Tatia was indeed our target and if she didn't get rid of everything, we'd have no choice but to ruin her big day.
I sat down, looking at the words written on the paper.
Target/Hit: Tatia Levine
Age: 21
Reasoning: Was caught hacking into private servers and stealing confidential information vital to our company.
Adjective: Either take out the target quietly or find a way to take back the information stolen and get her to keep quiet. If you cannot successfully complete this mission, we'll have no choice but to send in another team to finish the job henceforth you'll receive a new task.
I sighed setting down the paper. "God, Tatia what did you get yourself into?"

"Valerie you need to try and get some sleep." Elijah pleaded as I sat there on the couch hugging my knees.
I shook my head, willing myself not to cry, to not be weak.
"You don't understand Elijah." I looked up at him, my eyes holding so many emotions. "We used to be like hot glue on paper, she was like my sister and we told each other everything ..."
I paused, looking back at the couch cushion. "So to learn that she's the hit, it just ... it just ..."
Noticing that I could no longer hold it in, that I could no longer pretend to be as strong as I pretended to be, Elijah pulled me into his arms.
Painful sobs were released as I clung onto Elijah, afraid that in an instant he's disappear.
I don't know why I was crying honestly, it just seemed like something I had to do nor and something that I had no control over.
I was glad that everyone was out tonight because I didn't want them to question what was wrong with me since I didn't have an answer.
Then again, I can always blame the pregnancy that no one knows about too so yeah.
After I cried my eyes out, thanks to my hormones, the rest of the night consisted of binge watching some Seven Deadly Sins on Netflix.
But we all know, tomorrow is going to be horrible.
