Chapter 20: Encounters

(Y/N) POV

You were walking alongside Axel while pulling your luggage to your new dorm. The Professor did not specifically tell you nor Axel which class' dorm you both will be residing, but you could only guess that he will show once you and Axel arrived at the meeting spot.

"So, (L/n)-san, are you excited?"

"I'm not sure yet, it will be quite the transition to be living with others," you replied earnestly to Axel.

Axel turned silent afterwards and didn't start any other topics with you. You both arrived at the entrance of the main building. Placing down your luggage on the floor, you looked over to the left and right and saw nobody.

"I guess the Professor is running late."

You heard no reply from Axel and looked at him with wary. "Is something the matter, Axel-san?"

He continued to stay silent then briefly gazed at you. He bit his bottom lips and his eyes closed, 'there is definitely something going on in his head,' you observed. You slowly hovered one of your hands to his hand that gripped tightly around the handle of his luggage.

He relaxed at your touch and opened his eyes once again. You met his warm brown orbs that seem to be coated with something else. You weren't sure, but all you knew was that he had finally relaxed after some time.

"I—I'm just worried for you."

That shocked you. Axel only worried about you openly when the class is going to ride a vehicle, so you wondered what triggered it. You didn't notice, but Axel snaked his other hand on top of you when you were thinking and was beyond shocked when you finally realized what he just did.

"Axel-san?"

"You—"

Professor Blight teleported behind Axel and ultimately gave you the worst kind of cliffhanger.

'You're timing is always the worst Professor Blight!' you complained in your head while snatching your hand away from Axel.

"Sorry for being late, I had to organize some emails. Anyways, let me lead you two to your dorms!"

He quickly began to walk away to the direction of where you assumed the dorms were. You quickly glanced again to Axel and left him to avoid the awkwardness.

You find yourselves walking on a big sidewalk with beautiful condos line up perfectly. Each one with an engraved representation for each UA class.

"UA sure is something else, right Professor Blight?"

"They sure are! Though, I wouldn't be too happy when the school is placing a dorm system."

You nodded, "yes, I guess this is all just another plan for creating a safe environment for the students," 'or to watch them closer,' you added in your head.

It was already night time, almost close to 11 PM. The streetlights were the only source of light and you noticed that the Professor lead you and Axel in front of Class 1-B's dorm. You three stand before the building, staring at it for who knows how long.

"Well, Axel this will be your new dorm for the time being."

"EH!?" you and Axel exclaimed loudly.

"What do you mean? It will just be Axel who will be dorming with Class 1-B?"

"Precisely."

Professor Blight turned to Axel, "everything you need to know about UA's dorming system and your room will be listed in this paper. Try not to start a fight like Kai," he says while passing a white paper.

Axel reluctantly grabs it from the Professor and began to head into the building without a word. "He seems to be dealing with something, don't you think Class President?"

"Yes, could it be something that has happened today?"

Professor Blight huffed, "who knows, but regarding of the matters with the principal," Professor Blight takes another envelope from his pocket, but this time a golden wax steal was on it instead of the usual red colour.

"I see, so that meeting was a cover to give me my real message from the principal."

"Yes, and it seems you will be facing a much harder task this time around. Be careful, alright?"

You take the golden sealed envelope from the professor and put it in your backpack. Professor Blight starts to lead the way again to your new dorm. The walk was fairly short since the dorm you will be living in was next door to Axel's. You gaped at the huge number and letter the building displayed.

"Well here's your new dorm (L/n)!"

Professor Blight handed you a white paper, similar to Axel's and smiled brightly at you. "I do hope everyone in the class will enlighten themselves by creating new friends! And hope, that you too will finally warm up to others."

You gulped at Professor Blight's encouragement, "even Suzu is making a bit of progress with the Shiketsu High students." He placed a hand on your shoulder and firmly gripped it, "I know that you will be busier than ever, class president, but do remember that we are always here if you ever need us."

You bowed at Professor Blight after he took off his hands from your shoulder. "Yes, Professor."

"Well then, I'm still quite busy with some work, toodles!"

And just like that, Professor Blight vanished into thin air and you were left standing in front of Class 1-A's Heights Alliance. You opened up the white folded paper that Professor Blight handed to you and began to inspect its information.

It provided the layout of the whole building and the rules of the lodging area. What surprised you most was the bolded strict rule of the separation between the girls and the boys' dorm. You paid no mind to it since you are in the dorm of future heroes.

"Well then, my room is on the second floor at the very end of the girls' hallway... and my other luggage should be in my respective room... Alright!"

You began to walk up the stairs of the building and carefully open the huge wooden doors. Surprisingly it is left unlocked and all the lights are turned off. 'I guess everyone is asleep from today's lessons.'

You tiptoed to the elevator and ascended to the second floor. Once the elevator opened you went to the left hallway of the second floor and tiptoed to your room. You start to notice that there are no names near the other doors.

'Are these vacant? Am I the only girl on this floor?'

You finally reached the last door of the hallway and saw your last name. You opened the door carefully and walked in. You turned on the lights of your new dorm and was met with a fairly good-sized room with all your luggage in the middle, a bed and a wooden desk.

"We even have a balcony!" you exclaimed.

You sat at your new bed and looked at your luggage. "I am in no mood to unpack right now," you complained to yourself. You briefly lay down on your bed and closed your eyes. But you sat upright again and remembered the two envelopes that the principal of I-Island Academy has sent. You went over to your backpack and took it out, and decided to rip out the golden wax seal first.

You read its context quickly then flopped to your bed, 'if it is happening tonight then I need to eat something before going.' Groaning once more, you headed to your door and opened it.

Expecting for no one to be on the other side of the door, you were about to shriek when that wasn't the case. A black fog-like creature floated in front of you with yellow predatory eyes that seemed to gleam dangerously. Your mouth opened to shriek, but its hands... or claws clamped your mouth shut. Its head neared towards you and breathed on to your face.
