Chapter 21: Snacks Before a Mission

Goosebumps immediately coated your arms and you shivered at its non-existent limbs still blocking your voice. You gulped nervously before silently activating your quirk with your left hand. Not even a second with your hand brightly lit with fire the creature immediately backed away; scared of the fire.

You took a big breather before looking at the creature before you again. Its form, far different from how you initially saw it. Its core body small and petite, and its eyes not flaming yellow but rather glowing a nice colour of yellow.

"Who are you?" asks the creature.

You were shocked, 'it talks!?'

"uh, I am (L/n) (Y/n) the class president of I-Island Academy."

"What are you doing here?"

You moved your body to the side and showed him your luggage lying in the middle of the room, "I am actually moving here."

The creature blinked then faced you again, "I am Dark Shadow, sorry for scaring you."

"It's quite alright," you sweat-dropped, "do you happen to be a—"

"No, I am simply a part of Tokoyami's quirk, the body I reside in is a student in UA."

You nodded in acknowledgement to Dark Shadow and tapped your foot on the wooden floors. "Would you like to have a midnight snack with me?" you tested the waters.

Dark Shadow floated still in front of you before vanishing quickly. 'Great another Professor Blight,' you sighed. Before you could even step out of your room Dark Shadow appeared once again but this time with a few snacks in its claws.

"Tokoyami might become suspicious of me, but here," he handed you protein bars and some sweets, "you can have these, I'm sure you are tired from today."

You gawked at the food being placed in your hands and looked up to Dark Shadow, "Thank you Dark Shadow," you bowed. Dark Shadow chuckled before vanishing once more. You looked at the food in your hands and promptly closed the door to your new room.

You began to eat the snacks on your bed as you reviewed the principal's letter. After reading the letter again from the golden wax seal, you finished the remaining snacks that Dark Shadow gave to you and grabbed your backpack. Just in time, a device in your backpack starts to glow light blue. You take it out from your backpack and place it on the wooden floors, you read Hosu City on it before stepping on the glowing device with your right foot.

Once your right foot had stepped into the centre of the device, you braced yourself for what was about to occur. You were instantaneously teleported in a silent jet that soared above the skies. It was one of the innovative secret inventions that I-Island Academy have created for purposes that are hidden from the world. As the world changes by quirks, scientists have researched and invented creations that may improve or keep the world safer from the evolution that is happening by the day.

You were strapped in a reclining chair, facing another person who wore an I-Island Academy uniform. You could not recognize the person, but their hand motioned a wave of greeting before the transportation began to move.

As per usual, your motion sickness began to cloud your senses. The multi-purpose beagle flew in speeds unimaginable. As premiered in the pavilion from the very first I-expo, the jet was showcased to fly in air and water. However, what the public did not know was there was another version of the flying transportation. It was held back from the pavilion by the orders of Principal Law to keep the version 2.0 of the multi-purpose beagle a secret due to its high altitudes of power. In other words, the world is not ready for the new technology I-Island researchers, scientists and students have created.
