Chapter 31: Flatline

As Bakugou entered the elevator, Midoriya kept stealing glances at his childhood friend. He worried about Bakugou ever since he came home late to dinner with Present Mic. Both their faces were sullen and Bakugou did not even have the appetite to eat his dinner and quickly got on the elevator back to his room without replying to any questions.

Midoriya sighed, as he looked back to the morning news. Sure, everyone had an extra day-off due to Principal Nezu's orders, but it did not let the students rest easy knowing a villain may still be wandering around the school property. Even his mind is occupied to their missing new dorm-mate who had recently transferred to his class. He wondered where (Y/n) was since she did not come back to the dorms since yesterday.

'Probably with her class since there was a lockdown.'

"Did you all hear?"

Everyone around the couch watching the television turned their heads to Kirishima.

"Hear what?"

"Well," Kirishima scratched the back of his neck, "I don't know if it is rumours or not, but apparently one of the I-Island students were ambushed during lunchtime."

"WHAT!?" almost everyone exclaimed, except for Todoroki who is too busy slurping his cold noodles.

"What do you mean by ambushed Kirishima-kun!?" Ashido shouted.

"That's the point! I do not know. It's just some random rumours that some of the general studies have been gossiping about," Kirishima trails off.

"By far, that is the most outrageous rumour we've heard about I-Island yet!" Iida comments.

Midoriya abruptly stood up, feeling way too uncomfortable to listen to the new rumours. The rest of his classmates watched Midoriya entering the hall for the baths.

"Midoriya-kun!? Did I say something wrong!?" Iida shouts to him in concern.

Before Midoriya entered the hall he replied, "No! It's fine Iida-kun. Just needed to use the baths."

Midoriya quickly left the common room and Iida looked back to his classmates. "Oh, I thought I said something."

The others laughed lightly, then continued to their conversation. With Sero being the most curious as to where Kirishima even heard the rumour from.

"Well, it's from Tetsutetsu!" Kirishima replies.

However, Uraraka did not join their conversation. She still kept her gaze at the hall for the baths where Midoriya recently stood.

"Deku-kun," she muttered under her breath.

Todoroki, who sat next to Uraraka, heard what she muttered and almost dropped his bowl of noodles on the floor. He looked to the brunette who seems too occupied to notice him staring, but what he saw on Uraraka's face was a distortion of curiosity and sadness.

Todoroki shook his head slightly and picked another batch of noodles from his bowl. He slurped it slowly, still keeping his gaze at Uraraka. Uraraka moved slightly and decided to jump in with everyone's conversation. And as usual, it was somewhat always about the I-Island students and she sighed a little.

Todoroki took it upon himself and placed his bowl of noodles on the coffee table. He began to walk towards the baths where Midoriya went. Of course, no one questioned where he was going, but Iida and Uraraka can't help but notice the frequent visits to the baths.

Todoroki entered the baths for the boys and the first thing he heard is the faucet running. He closed the doors then passed the changing room. In the baths he sees Midoriya placing his head under one of the faucets with water running down his face.
