Chapter 3: One Minute and Thirty Seconds

Suzu POV

Suzu felt the ground vibrating with the air pulsing once. He decided to look back and widened his eyes. His three classmates were not far from him and they were actually fighting while still going forward. In a blink of an eye, Axel blasted his way towards Suzu who was now a few metres away from him.

"What the actual hell!" Suzu yelped.

Suzu rapidly used his quirk to manipulate the air around him and decided the air to push his back to give him more speed. Just then another heatwave pulsed through the air. He could practically feel his back receiving heat, 'the heat could only mean that (l/n)-san is here too!'

"Yaaaaargh!" A scream broke out into the air.

Before Suzu could check who made the sound, he felt someone from behind him knock his back making him face-plant the ground. Axel landed onto his back and the two rolled onto the ground. His forehead was cut due to the sudden impact and the two boys coughed and groaned in pain. They were still recovering from the unexpected hit but snapped their heads to where they heard bickering.

"You idiot! That fucking hurt!" screamed Kai as he punched (Y/n) on her jaw.

The girl staggered backwards and raised her fists "Says the one who knocked Axel-san into me when I was just trying to pass you guys!" (Y/n) gave Kai a sucker punch causing the poor guy to cough dryly.

He was about to hit (Y/n) again but stopped midway when Suzu screamed at him to stop.

"Stop!"

Kai looked at Suzu with anger and screamed back, "What do you want you nerd!"

Suzu looked at both of their conditions and gasped inwardly. (Y/n) was practically wearing a scorched uniform. Her blazer's sleeves practically gone, the dress shirt is dirty and burned to reveal a bit of her stomach, and the edges of her skirt was lined with smog. Her usual combed hair was flying everywhere, and her body is just coated with a bunch of scratches here and there. (Y/n)'s face was dribbling with sweat and had a massive bruise forming on her cheek connecting to her jaw. Possibly where Kai had punched her.

Kai, on the other hand, was covered in bruises and scratches. His pants were the only clothing he wore, meaning (Y/n) probably burned his top. His forehead bled causing his blood to run over his right eye, then down to his cheeks.

"You two need to stop bickering and focus on the test. We're probably going to fail now since you both practically stopped all of us from moving towards the bell post!" Suzu argued.

(Y/n) unclenched her fists and sighed, "You're right Suzu-san—"

But Kai didn't listen, he threw another punch at (Y/n) and almost in an instant Axel blocked Kai's attempt to punch (Y/n). Axel held Kai's fist in his left hand with a strong hold and glared while throwing his fist back to him. The four students now faced each other silently, with only their heavy panting and breathing filling the air. It was unpleasant. No one knows if it was tense, awkward, or peaceful.

"We're close," started Suzu.

(Y/n) looked at Suzu-san, "how close?"

"Professor is definitely at that dome building over there but it'll be impossible to pass the test now since we all stopped moving."

Axel looked at the dome building and gasped. They were so close.

"And even if we start running again we won't touch the bell in time; we're all still a bit far from the building even if we all have the abilities to throw ourselves in the air." Suzu looked at his watch on his right wrist and stood up, "we only have about one minute and thirty seconds left, so it's impossible."
