Beep Beep Beep

Sam's phone rang, waking him up as it vibrated against the table beside his bed.

He reached over, grabbing the object as he slowly opened his eyes.

An unknown number popped up, leaving him confused.

"Hello?"

He asked, yawning into the microphone.

"Sorry, did I wake you?"

A male's voice asked.

"Yeah. What's up, Jake?"

"Sorry about that, but anyways, I was calling to see if you wanted to get lunch. I have nothing to do today, so..."

The other boy replied.

Sam smiled a little, rubbing his face with his free hand.

"Sure. Where to?"

He asked, walking over to his closet to get his outfit for the day.

"Ummm.... Subway good?"

"Yeah."

After hanging up the call and getting changed, Sam sent Jake a text as he got into his car.

Sam: See you there in 5?

Waiting for Jake's reply, he sat there, listening to the car engine roar as he leaned his head back and closed his eyes.

"Sam! Where are you?"

Asked Colby, joy coating his face and voice.

"Over here!"

Sam yelled back, running through the field of flowers as he tried to get away from Colby.

The brunette caught up to him, pushing his hand onto his shoulder.

"Tag! You're it!"

He yelled, tackling the blonde.

Both boys collapsed in laughter.

"I love you, Colbear."

Sam said, hugging Colby tightly as they lay on the grass.

"Love you too, Sammy."

Colby ran his hand through Sam's hair, smiling to himself as the two watch the clouds pass by on that warm summer day.

Sam's eyes jerked open as he heard a pounding noise.

He turned to the passenger window, revealing Jake smiling softly.

"You good, bro?"

Jake asked, opening the door once Sam unlocked it.

"Yeah. Guess I fell asleep."

Sam answered, shaking his head.

Jake grunted, letting out a small chuckle.

"I'd say so. It's been an hour."

Sam groaned, sitting up slightly in his seat.

"Really?"

Nodding, Jake pulled out his phone.

"If you want, we can reschedule our lunch."

Sam shook his head.

"Nah. I'm really hungry."

The other boy laughed, getting out of the car.

"Okay. I'll see you there."

"See ya."

Once Jake started his car and left, Sam followed.

When they parked in the lot of the sandwich shop, Sam met Jake over at his car, waiting for him before heading in.

"Okay, so I invited Tara. If you want, you can invite Kat."

Jake said, looking down at his phone.

"Okay."

Getting out his phone, Sam saw the text message he didn't think he would get.
