A nurse with a sad look that I didn't recognize walked into my room as I finished eating my terrible hospital dinner.

"Are you Colby Brock?"

She asked, soft blue eyes looking at me and the others.

"Yeah, what is it? Is it Sam?"

A smile appeared on her lips as she walked over and sat in the chair beside me.

"Well, he asked to make sure you were okay and to say that he was."

Suddenly, an invisible weight lifted from my shoulders.

"Oh, thank you. How's everyone else? They went to go find him."

A frown overtook her smile.

"Not necessarily. Your friend Devyn got shot by an anonymous shooter and we don't who it was and if she is okay. They found a black spot in her brain when they did an MRI."

Everything suddenly changed at that moment.

"Wait, what? Do they know what it is?"

Tara asked, tears in her eyes.

"Yes, but no. They know there's... A tumor, but they don't know if it is cancerous or not."

I looked at everyone as they started to cry too.

Especially Tara, Cassie, and Xepher.

They were all so close and have been since grade school.

I think it hurt them more than anyone.

Besides Corey.

"What do we do if it's cancerous?"

"If it doesn't spread, we have a higher chance of getting it out, but if not, then we can get it out, but it will be in other places. Then, all you can do is love her and make sure she's happy."

Tears rolled down my cheeks as she finished.

I looked over at all of the guys crying and the girls full on sobbing.

Everyone loved Devyn.

No matter what.

She's one of those people who gets along with everyone, even if they had nothing in common and are just complete opposites.

So everyone loved her.

But not as much as us.

It hurt me to hear what's happened and to see everyone all sad.

"Do you know when I can stand up again? I want to go see my boyfriend and friends."

I randomly asked, not even realizing until after.

"I don't know, but if you feel okay, you can go. You'll just have to have someone monitor you."

The nurse answered, standing up.

"Hold on. I'll be right back."

She said as she walked out of the room.

"Can someone come help me up?"

I ask, Reggie and Aaron answering by walking over.

Right as I pulled my blanket off of me, the nurse came back in with a wheelchair.

"You might want to use this just in case."

She rolled it over to the bed as the guys lifted me up.

I took one or two steps, instantly regretting it as I almost fell from being in the bed for too long.

"Are you okay??"
