I woke up to see Devyn curled into a ball and I was confused, but didn't question it.

Instead, I got up slowly and walked downstairs only to see Sam passed out on the couch.

When I walked into the kitchen, Corey was sitting at the table thing on his phone.

"Oh hey, Colby."

"Hey."

He stood up and walked over, grabbing an apple before going back over to the table.

"Have you seen Devyn by any chance? I woke up and she wasn't in our room."

I shut the fridge and poured me a bowl of cereal and milk then walked over to Corey.

"Yeah. She fell asleep in our room."

As I sat down, Sam walked in soon after.

"Morning, Sleepyhead."

I said, smirking as he glared at me.

"How'd she fall asleep in there?"

I shrugged and just continued to eat my Lucky Charms.

"She walked in when Colby and I were laying down because she needed something, but we started talking and she fell asleep, so I just let her."

Sam intervened as he walked over and stood by the table.

Corey nodded and got back up as he sighed.

"What do I do, man?"

He asked, putting his hands on his head and pushes his hair back stressfully.

I sighed too as I thought.

"I don't know."

Sam continued listening to us with his thinking look plastered on his face.

As if on cue, Devyn walked into the room.

"Hey, guys."

She looked a lot better, but she still had dark bags underneath her eyelids.

"How are you feeling?"

Sam asked before walking over and hugging her.

I looked over at Corey as I heard him clear his throat a little.

He's jealous.

When I turned back to look at Sam and Devyn, they separated.

"Better. What time is it anyway?"

She asked as she took her phone out of her pocket and turned it on.

"Shoot. I'm going to be late."

I assumed we all looked at her with a weird look because she gave us one.

"Chemo."

My heart sunk and I just looked down to the ground.

I guess I have to get used to it though.

Suddenly, I felt a hand on my chin and I jumped a bit before I saw Devyn, but relaxed la little.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

Tears start forming and I know she sees them because she hugged me.

I heard her sniffle and I hugged back for a few, only letting go to see why she was crying.

"I'll be okay, Colby."

That's all she said and I started balling my eyes out.

I know she said it just to make me feel better, but it didn't.

She's dying and there's nothing we can do about it besides get her treatments to help slow it down.

It hurts everyone to see her like this, and it's obvious.

"No you won't, Dev."

She just sighed and hugged me again.

"I know, but I have to stay strong for you guys. Especially Corey."

I cried more as she whispered that in my ear.

When she pulled away, she stood straight up and wiped her eyes.

"Do you want me to drive you there?"

Corey asked, grabbing his phone off of the counter.

She nodded and walked towards the door.

Sam stopped them last minute before they left the room by grabbing Corey's arm.

"Do you want us to go?"

They both looked at us and stood there.

"You don't have to..."

Devyn said, but I knew she had that hint of hope in her voice.

"It's okay. We want to support you all the way. Even if that means we have to sit and wait for your chemo."

I interrupt as I walked over and wrapped my arm around Sam and went over to them.

"Okay. We gotta go or we'll be late."

I nodded and walked with Sam until we made it to the car, us sitting in the back so Devyn could sit in the passenger and Corey in the driver's.

We drove off to the hospital and all I could do on the way was get lost in my thoughts as I watched the outside speed past us.

Sam ended up pulling me away from my thoughts as he shook my arm somewhat fast.

"We're here."

I nodded and got out of the car and followed them into the building.

We all walked up to the receptionist like lady person and Devyn told her why she was here.

"Okay, you three will have to wait out in the waiting room until she's done."

Devyn turned to look at us as she noticed Corey tense up beside me.

"I'll be fine. Go sit down. It won't take long."

He inhaled and exhaled deeply.

"Okay. You know where we'll be, I guess."

She nodded and hugged him tightly.

"I love you guys."

We all shared a hug before she walked off towards the room the lady told her to go to.

"Bye, Dev."

Corey said and Sam and I just waved as she waved back towards us, disappearing as she turned around the corner.

I walked back and sat down, sighing as I put my elbows on my knees so I could put my face in my hands, sighing to myself.

And now we wait.
