XUI POV
Leena had taken to avoiding me. She spoke when i asked a question and answered politely when i attemtped conversation, but her eyes never met mine and she made an efforet not to be near me or speak directly to me if it wasn't necessary
I would have given her space and waited for her to come to me, but after the attack, i found that difficult to do. I wanted, No needed to be near her at all times.
It was a compulsive and possessive need, but the very thought of her coming to harm made me edgy and half mad with paranoia
Each day that passed with her avoidance, i racked my brain searching for an explanation and finding none. Maybe she was upset or embarrassed about my abrupt withdrawal from our kiss. I would talk to her soon and explain. She did not understand many ways of my race. LoQuans were different in our ways of intimacy and love than humans
Thinking of our kiss as i so often did lately, made me groan inwardly. Her soft sweet lips. Her warm tongue caressing my own. She kissed me with so much longing.
I sigh heavily, I could feel myself growing more obsessed with her, more than ever. I desperately wanted to kiss her again. To kiss her everywhere.
Another kiss pops into my head sullying my perfect Kiss with Leena. The human girl Tara. Days ago the obviously superficial, girl attempted to seduce me. I wanted to laugh at her poor attempt. She followed me when I went to the nearby pond to wash the blood off my chest.
When she placed her hands on my arms i felt like carving off the offended flesh. Such was the way of my race. The part Leena did not yet know.
Once the annoying human attempted to subject my lips to the same horrific feeling as my arms, I quickly stepped back. Almost tripping in my haste. i knew then, it was time to send her on her way
She huffed with indignation and stormed off when i politely declined her advances. I however, only felt immense relief and to my delight she has kept her distance since. Clinging once again to the human boy, Cain.
Here we sat at yet another fire eating in relaxed silence
My glance strayed to where Leena sat, far from me and i picked at my food irritably.
Lokkar sat beside me munching with no worries.
"So when are you going to cease your pouting like a youngling"
he asked his eyes still trained on his meal not bothering to spare me a lookI growled low at him. Affronted by his words.
"I am not pouting" I spat
"Of course, is that why you continually sneak glances at the human and you pick at your meal, which i spent a considerable amount of time hunting and preparing, might I add"
"Shut up" I hiss
He only shakes his head laughing
That gets attention and everyone looks at us Leena's gaze finds mine briefly. I flash her a small smile that she doesn't return before she adverts her eyes back to her meal
I sag in defeat. It was killing me that she seemed to suddenly hate me
A deep sigh of irritation comes from Lokkar as he finally looks at me. His thick dark horns looked even more menacing in the glowing flicker of the fire
"Just tell her how you feel already. it is sickening watching you pine for the human".
"And it is most unbecoming of a prince" Slix adds as he sidles up to us, a teasing grin on his face
