Heart to Heart

LEENA POV

Xui lost consciousness just as Elith and Gurriy rushed to him. They lifted his battered body off the ground and carried him away Lokkar right behind them, his anger palpable

I moved to follow, until Slix's  hand on my shoulder halted me. He stayed beside me knowing i was on the verge of breakdown

"Allow them time to help him".

What had happened to him. Who did this?

Tears gathered in my eyes as i fought to supress them. I wanted to stay strong, but the thought of him not making it was a devastating blow. I do not think i would recover. Ever

I was furious and disappointed with him, but my feelings regardless remained the same. 

"He will be alright Leena. We heal exceptionally quick"

I gaped at him

"Did you see his wounds?  he was barely alive Slix"

He nodded 

"yes and i am telling you he will still live. if you do not believe it from looking at his wounds then believe it because i said so. I have always been truthful to you have i not?"

I glanced at him. he has. Amongst all the LoQuans other than Xui.  i knew i could trust Slix wholeheartedly 

My heart calmed slightly enough for me to push away my tears

"Who did that to him? i Want his fucking head on a platter"  i growled

"Most likely his father or uncle. They would always beat him into submsiison whenever he was unruly or disagreeable. Even when we were children. Sometimes they would even withhold medical treatment to force him to endure the pain longer. Me and Lokkar would always help treat him as best we could." He said staring off, likely in remembrance of those days

"How disgusting. His father is not only a psycho, but an abusive asshole as well.

Slix nodded glumly

Before my time was over,  i would make sure i ended his life. I alone wanted to do it. to see his blood drain away and his eyes grow cold and empty,  by my own hand.

A WEEK LATER

I sat beside Xui's bed as i had been doing for days now. I refused to leave. Food was brought to me which i barely ate and when fatigue comsumed me i rested my head beside Xui's.

Turkkal had checked on him this morning and assured me he was well. His body apparently needed to stay asleep in what he called Hyper-Healing. A LoQuAn state of hibernation that allowed their bodies to rapidly  repair the damage, before finally allowing them to wake.

I understood what he was explaining but Xui looked so still. lifelessly still

I picked up his hand and kissed it. willing him to wake quickly so i could see his strange eyes and know he was truly ok

A knock sounded on the door as i prayed over Xui

"What?" i asked grouchily. Much they way i had been for days now

The door opened as Troy, Slix and Lokkar filed in

"What is it?"

"We came to here to talk since no one can convince  you to vacate this room"  Lokkar said snarkily 

"What is there to talk about has something happened?"

"We wished to inform you that Once Xui is recovered we are heading out to find this rebellion". Slix stated
